I once flew with this airlines back in the early 2000s, from London to Hong Kong via Abu Dhabi. The first time I flew with a Middle Eastern airlines. Abu Dhabi was its hub back then, when Gulf Air was a four nation airlines. I don't think it flies to HK anymore, probably because of route profitability issues. No TV back then, only a large projector at the front playing the destination map, which I loved to watch. The inflight meal was good, at least the portion is bigger and better than some major airlines I flew with. Don't even mention the airlines these days.......

Bahrain really likes their motorsport. Gulf Air sponsored the Bahrain Grand Prix and they even got an aerial photo of Sakhir Circuit on one of their bank notes! I don't remember any other currency that have an image of a race track on their bank notes

Emirates, Gulf Air and Qatar Airways wipe the floor with airlines like Lufthansa and KLM. I used to be a huge KLM flyer until I tried Emirates once ... I'll gladly pay the extra $100 or so for Emirates every single time - unless they simply don't reach where I'm going. The difference in treatment and quality is night and day really. A bit unfortunate if you ask me; I've always regarded European companies as some of the top and most ethical organizations in the world ... I've certainly reconsidered my thoughts big time!

Gotta say that it looks like one of the best economy class I've seen in a while. Good seats, decent legroom, great IFE, good meal. Flying on a 3 months old plane surely hepls, but besides that Gulf Air really seems a very good company.

Gulf Air 787 Service are very similar like Aeroflot A330 Service.. Very same... Same IFE I , Headphones , Lunch Trays , And even the Seat Amenities (Cup Holder , Tray Table)

The electronic window shades are the one thing I don't like about the Dreamliner. You don't have control over them during the flight and during a "night" flight they will darken them, so if you want to see anything or take pictures during the flight, you can't. With manual window shades, I can open them a little bit for a short time to enjoy the view.

the windows are not that problem because you can self know when you will close it or not

The CC can override the windows at any time & often do. For take off & landing it's understandable any other time it can be damn annoying. They are often programmed to match the "mood settings" of the lights in the cabin and there are airlines out there who dont always get that right OR you just want to be asleep longer. Plus like I said if you have direct sun on them they aren't always as effective as a a blind is
