your one of the best virtual formula 1 youtubers I have seen and you taught me so much. Thank you.

F1 22 is my first f1 game with steering wheel and it feels amazing. However driving without ABS and traction control is very difficult. My two problems are: locking the wheels while breaking, but im working on that using this trailbraking technique and second problem is losing control while adding gas from lower runs like 2,3.

Btw, you should start with medium traction control, and remember to upshift out of slow corners

I just picked this game up a week ago and I'm at the same point in terms of learning. I'm starting to get most corners down with repetition but the consistency is not there, I'm occasionally locking on entry or spinning out on exit. Practice and experimentation seems to be helping me improve a lot. I played first few days in F2 cars as I found less gears and slower speed to be a help

One advice I would have for all those transitioning to wheel from controller is just go manual! I was so afraid at first because I always raced automatic but after a few trial races on Austria I got the hang of it and it made everything so much easier! No more spinning out no more overshooting corners I'm telling you its a night and day difference! Just do it jump in the deep end I'm promise you will not just learn to swim but turn into Michael Phelps! Lmao

@@shawndavis5452 Im already playing on manual, but practice helps me a lot. Problem is very small now, i learned more controll.

It's better to put the throttle linearity to like 30, that means you will go up in revs slower and that helped me alot in the beggining

Hey man thanks for the help I liked and sub'd I'm and f1 vet since 2009 and I've never really used any assists I've gotten along fine but you videos help me drive faster than ever before. Your doing good things here and this channel is going places thanks again.

Last year tried driving without abs but could never figured it out, drive some VRC formula hybrid on AC and that honestly really helped and this game it is a lot harder to lock up than last year

Thank you for this it was being discussed yesterday in the comments. Someone is going to be happy 😃 I only have two assists left: race line and ABS. I couldn’t figure out something and I was constantly struggling. This really helps.

with Trailbraking you can brake much later but have to brake into the corner, you are much faster with this, like in the real racecars.

Got the hang of driving without abs but Monaco seems impossible without it
@Deton8r_vlogs2 жыл бұрын
idk why but I still cannot stop locking up, I lock up into EVERY corner and I have tried every tip found in this video. I have been driving with ABS on for so long it is nearly impossible to switch

Jus press the brake lightly and add a little more and more then release and coast thru the turn and start to apply the gas when you start to come out of the corner and add some more and more and then full throttle and rip thru those gears… you can also use the engine braking also coming into the the corner to help slow you down

Liked and sub'd. I've just entered the wheel setup and am enjoying turning each assist off slowly as I get a kick out of the realism of the experience rather than pure pace. This video was super helpful! Can you let me know the best track you've practised the braking techniques on in time trial? Also, would be great if you could go into explaining about differential and bias and whether this is something I should be amending? Thanks mate
@SimRacingSetups2 жыл бұрын
Hey man. Thanks for the sub and glad this video helped! I definitely recommend practicing your braking on Monza as well as Paul Ricard. Monza has some super big stops so braking is very important and Paul Ricard has some strange braking zones to practice trail braking. On-throttle differential essentially helps make traction easier to find the lower it is. So start on 50% and work up. Then brake bias can be set to 50 and left in F1 22. In real life, drivers use a brake bias up to 56-58%, with the further forward it is set, the shorter your potential stopping distances, but more understeer you'll get.
@nealemadden35902 жыл бұрын
@@SimRacingSetups Thanks mate, much appreciated! Would you advise to change brake bias within laps for specific corners etc like F1 racers do or is this not needed? My wheel has loads of settings that I have no idea about but I'm sure this is probabyl something I can quickly switch within a lap for tighter corners etc. Cheers!

I brake and turn I jus go in a straight line
@TheStevieb19832 жыл бұрын
I lock up when I downshift. Even when I try to keep the wheel straight, the second I downshift, I lock up. It's to the point where I am trying to break without downshifting at all, which I think is counterintuitive. Help me lol
@RYKsopp2 жыл бұрын
If you are locking up when downshifting, check your rpms to see if they're low enough to be safely downshifted. Otherwise you're basically doing a clutch kick.

But what if my braking point is in the middle of a corner?
@Brad-kv2zy2 жыл бұрын
Let go of throttle for like a split second because you will lose control if you go flat out and the racing line wants you to slow, works for me
