Even my vet can’t cut my son’s nails without wrapping him in a towel. They call him spicy lol. Man your bun is a dream with grooming.

Haha I love how "calm" she is.... and I use that term lightly. My boy, if put on his backside to do his tummy, he will kick and bite like the dickens!! My boy is a little butthead, but I love him. So I end up having my vet help out when he is over there.

I would recommend getting professional nail clippers like the use at a podiatrist (foot doctor) it’s so much easier to trim bunnies nails with and they don’t crack or make that crunchy noise like the clippers that you buy at Walmart or the ones they use on dogs

She's so good!! Lol my Gigi will kick and scream (if she could actually scream) lol but when I'm just brushing her fur on top she's good but once I have to clip nails or clean scent glands or even brush under her belly, that's it! She be ready to fight lol

I recommend filing the nail afterwards! It makes the nails softer so you don’t still get scratched afterwards and also prevents the danger of cutting into the quick + some bunnies tend to like it. Also using a towel or soft thing over the area your grooming them is also helpful as rabbit need traction plus for dark nails u can try using a flashlight.

Dear cinnabun for the nail i clip day time beside window is kinda magic that sunlight works very much better than fake light bc my bun has dark nail so is difficult to recognize blood vessels…so this way helped me alot !! And thank you I didn’t know that I must groom the private area too ♥️🌹

A bathtub with the towel in it also helps if you’re worried about the height from the counter. I do that with my buns and it works great!

Hi Cinnabun! This week's video was so informative and helpful! I have a baby bun that's 2 1/2 months old and was wondering how often I should groom him? He still has his baby fur and isn't shedding that much so I'm not sure if he should even be groomed. His nails are also fairly short and his quicks are fairly close to the edge of the nail! Also, any advice on getting him accustomed to being picked up? (He hates it and always runs away from me!) Thanks so much

Just wanting to comment if it helps other people, my bunny hates being picked up (like most bunnies) I found it best to use a stacking cup with some forage in it to brush his neck and then hold it ontop of a box so he can put his front paws on which makes it easier to get his stomach and he normally is fine being brushed on his back but still have the forage to keep him entertained. Hope this helps someone as I know it can be difficult

My first Rabbit I was able to trim her nails all by myself and groom her she only allowed me to trim her nails and use deshedding type brushes on her though but I heard most buns aren't like my first one she was also a Holland Lop like Cinnabun

Great q! While baby bunnies don’t shed much, it’s good to start introducing it to them so they can be “used to it” when it actually comes time. You can start now, with really short and easy sessions :)

When I trim my buns nails her veins are literally at the tips of her nails… so I only get them when I see them far from her paws…. And sometimes I even see her nibbling her nails which is my sign to trim them.. I’ve never had a bun where their veins are so close to the tips

My bun hate getting its nails trimmed or even held in that case I had to get my sister to give me a hand to trim his nails first time I trim the Bunny nails and boy was that a nervous I was sweating bullets by train trimming its nails but seems to be okay but I think it needs a little bit more trimming thank you for the video
