@@michaelnuk Thankyou - much appreciated. I’m actually going to start on the other one right now - get it stripped down and I’ll do the same restoration on it (plus I’ll be retaining the yellow painted parts), got to keep the history !

Very nice indeed, great work! What I don't think I heard was a description of how you get the rust off the chassis? Do you treat with a rust remover, wire wheel, or just sand down? Would you be able to put some links to the primer and paints you used as well please? I have a similar restoration to do and you've spurred me on to get it done in time for 2025! Also, who would I contact to get some 3D printed parts- Facebook forum?

@@harryinashed hey there, Thankyou very much for the comments - appreciated. So I spend hours rubbing down the chassis’s by hand using initially a sure brush , then just sand paper/blocks (wet and dry type), then if it’s really pitted I use zinc 182 and hand paint it on, then top coat with Holts 03 Grey and then laquer. If the chassis isn’t badly pitted , I would spray with regular grey primer instead of the zinc 182 paint. The zinc 182 has to dry overnight , incase you use that. If you want the exact paints, reply back and I’m home tonight - I’ll tell you the exact products.

@@harryinashed and for 3D parts, it’s Graham Garlick, via the C5 Owners Facebook group :), he’s a legend and all fairly priced.
