Once again you deliver gems of real life actionable measures to take. PS I’m crushing Level 2 of your 3.0 course and know that at 53 I am able to sing better than I’ve ever been able. people don't realize how quickly the hearing can get damaged by loud environments. I played 45 min outside when I was 18 (guitar) and the monitor in front of me was literally screaming 4K out at like 130 db. I was 18. I had no clue to stop and put toilet paper in my ears or tell the sound guy who was probably drunk to turn the monitor WAAY down etc. That 45 min destroyed a lot of my 4k range in my left ear. The monitor was to the left of the microphone and since that day it's been that way. I can rub my fingers together by my right ear and hear a crisp high rubbing noise. by the left ear, not so much. I even now compensate this by turning the highs up on the LEFT monitor in my studio so that I get a better sense of evenness in the high end. I also screwed up my ears for months by driving a cheap small car with insane noise level from bad muffler and I was playing the radio over that and then I went and mixed a guy's songs for a few days and my ears were literally effed up and I could not hear properly. Everything was just garbled and I literally had to wear earplugs for months to hope my hearing would return and it finally settled down. I wish people knew how bad loudness is for the ears. Loud music seems great but your ears will suffer if you do it too loudly for too long. an hour of 90 db is bad. Think of a 4 hr bar gig at 100db with no earplugs, 4 nights in a row. Do that for 2 years... hearing loss guaranteed. But also the voice can suffer like you said by having to talk to loudly. always good vids, man.

Ian Gillan drank 🍺 🥃🍷 and 🚬 all during Deep Purple 1980's come back hey day... plenty of video and audio of the effects on his voice... Most of the time he sounded great to good... some nights it hit 🎯 back hard on him...
