I caught myself moving up the bottom jaw when switching from AH to EH. Also, I resisted to round the lips on OH which creates a less brilliant OH sound. The demonstration on your piano shows a great control of your body.
@Victoria-Victorious4 жыл бұрын
If the jaw moves up a little bit from AH to EH, it’s okay, but it should be very little. Keep up the great practice!
@arttez80683 жыл бұрын
An open AH is the word God, a closed AH is the word Far. An open EH is Wait and a closed EH is They. You shouldn’t have to move your jaw at all when you learn it correctly. The only thing that should move is your lips and tongue and you don’t have to ever think of your lips or tongue because they will move in place naturally.

6:37 “Fast singing is more challenging. You have to sing quickly and you’ll be tempted to close the throat-don’t do it!” IT’S SO HARD to tell when I close up. Recording myself singing is the only way I can tell, but now I can physically feel the sensation of closing up because my notes sound so thin and breathy, and I feel my chest and shoulders tensing from the effort of singing with a closed throat. Gotta exercise more!

Changing flowers by raising and lowering your tongue only. I had seen an opera singer explain this before. I didn't think it was done in contemporary technique.
@Victoria-Victorious4 жыл бұрын
Oh, sure, it's done all the time in contemporary technique, just like changing mouth position and position of the larynx.
@Rosannasfriend4 жыл бұрын
I think I’ve been doing this method for a while. keeping the same shape in the back of my throat and my mouth. I think I just didn’t realize that the tongue is doing all the work, I tend to think that I am keeping it in the same position flat and forward. But I suppose there is an unconscious rising, even when I don’t want there to be. I thought the rising of the tongue happens more with your control, even though it may move a little more to the middle with some vowels. Anyway, thank you for your great videos.

hi victoria! i'm extremely grateful for your teachings and tips on singing, I rarely find any vocal coaches on youtube who actually know how to sing or demonstrate what they are teaching. I have a question, can you make a video on how to smoothly transition into headvoice, and how to strengthen it. I have an airy, weak, and under developed head voice that sounds like it is falsetto but i can actually connect it to chest voice when sliding through a scale.
@Victoria-Victorious5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Astrid! Thank you for the lovely comment. Yes, I will add your request to my list. It will probably be a few weeks because I have several others ahead. Subscribe if you haven't already for notification. For now, why don't you try sirens (spoken on your best vowel, then sung) in head voice? Just focus on getting a clear and intense vowel. If you can get that, the volume will take care of itself!

Thanks for sharing the video! God bless you! Please remember the following: Therefore, as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so death passed to all men, because all have sinned. Romans 5:12 So, as by the transgression of one (Adam) came condemnation to all men, in the same way by the righteousness of one (Jesus Christ!) the justification of life came to all men. Romans 5:18 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish, but may have eternal life. John 3:16 And in no other is there salvation; for there is no other name under heaven, given to men, by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 If you acknowledge the Lord Jesus with your mouth, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
