I must admit that as I'm still to get use a fully modular power supply in a build I've always hidden my cables, but watching this series has actually made my think twice about having some on display as a feature. Great video, been following the build, pretty cool. I do have a little question. When making measurements for the cables, couldn't you just use one of factory cable set and route it where you need it then do a subtraction from it to come up with what length you need. Any comment?

Hello.. I'm about to build my first liquid cooled set up ever . I always watch your videos and I'm sure that some time ago, in a previous video of yours, you talked about the differences between serial and parallel sli bridge connections. You did it in a marvellous and very deep way, as usual. Can you tell me in which video (you did it more than once) the description is the longest and the most articulated? My set up will have a simple dual GPU (not triple or quad) but it's soooo interesting! I would really appreciate to download that video. Thanks SOOOO much!

First off, I love your builds they are beautiful, well-executed and so detailed. I've noticed you use a similar pump and res configuration on many of your builds. What do you use and how do you attach the pump directly to the res? The only EK reservoirs that I found that can do that are the pump/res combos.

Bitspower Upgrade Kits. You need to purchase the parts separately, they are kind of hard to find and figure out. Keep and eye out, Im doing something soon, all I can say for now.

The GPU in my case is right next to the psu modular outs. Would it matter if I did a PCIE cable that was just a couple inches long? I’m not sure if the reduction in resistance would have a dangerous or negative effect.

Do you subtract cable length between each cablerow to avoid the 'rainbow' effect? I've read that some like to have one row ~5mm shorter than the other so you have more even cablebends. Also, could you recommend any sleeving tool kits? I know that you prefer to use MDPC-X tools, but they are kind of pricey to be honest. (not planning to sleeve multiple builds) Cheers

What is you're opinion about wraparound cables? Cable sleeves on atx cable in a nonmodular PSU. Holy shit ! i would never bother with that. Its such a miniscule thing. With a lot of effort.

So question, I am looking into making some of my own PSU cables as I have a Rosewill Photon 1050 watt power supply, not sure if Photon is very big in the states, it is in China & maybe other countries but not here, so just about any cable mod site I find who does cables, they don't offer cables for it, so at this point I'm just going to try to do my own. Is there a good way to find the pin diagram of the PSU? Have some from a cable company in China that I ordered, they work for the most part, but the sata cables don't power my drives for some reason & the 24pin mobo cable is a train wreck, so I want to make a few them and want to make sure i do it correctly so any advice would be great.

What are your thoughts on trying to run two pcs from a single PSU? It should be achievable, but I have been wondering about voltage fluctuations when one PC turns off or drops load etc. Phanteks have a splitter but it should be possible just by splitting cables.

Q: what type of wire are you using? Beside stranded, and 16 Gauge? Thermoplastic High Heat-resistant Nylon coated OR something else? Also RE: Fan Pins, are your pins on your website compatible with thermaltake's Riing 14 LED RGB 256 Colors Fan? And where can I get their m/f female connectors (between the fan and their controler)?

Blacklab412294 - Looking at this with my EE hat, the whole wiring system, soup to nuts, is mass overkill. The insulation is irrelevant for many reasons. The most important two are the voltage is less than ten percent of any legal insulation rating (unless you buy hobby shop unlisted hook up wire), and the sleeving has no approved use at all and negates the insulation completely. It may as well be wrapped in tin foil. Ok, from a builders point of view, if you can get business insurance to indemnify you (or as a buyer, your homeowners coverage), do what pleases you. I can't see how any of this gets past EMF approval. This is art.

I would be worried about getting the pin out wrong or crossing up some of the wires. That is the only reasons I have not done custom cables.

The way I started was first buying a fully modular power supply, and using the provided cables & connectors. I did the cables by pulling the pins out of the connector just one wire at a time and sleeving them. I re-inserted the pins after finishing each wire - taking away the possibility of mixing the wires. This of course will not adjust the length of the cables, etc. but it was a great way to start and I learned a lot by doing my first cable sleeved build this way. Now that I've learned through this experience I've done more including using fresh wire to start with, changing the lengths to match, etc.

Lets say there is a mobo with 24 pins and 2x8pins plus 1x6pins I only plug 24 pins to power my mobo, is that mean that i dont properly power my mobo?

Yahtadi Shidiq At the end of the day, yes. without knowing the make of the motherboard, I would say the 8 pins are for the CPU, and the 6 pin for providing extra power to the PCI slots in the case of multiple GPUs. The 24pin powers the MB plus some extra for the PCI slots.

So much money and effort spent creating custom colored cables and then planning how to route them so they are the least visible makes no sense. It's like buying RGB lights and then painting over them so no light can be seen... I'll go in the opposite direction with as much of the cabling in view and a focal point.
