Jacob Voronkov Also I'm worried about the child actors. The children in the trailer didn't scare me like the kid going "this is mine". Their acting just seemed so flat and not at all frightening. Also I'm concerned about how many times they are showing the boogyman. One of the interests of the first movie was that the boogyman was only shown a little and in glimpses adding to the mystery. In this trailer he pops up everywhere and it seems to desensitize me to his jump scares. I completely agree with what you said about the atmosphere. The cinematography and soundtrack were brilliant in the first movie and made for a surreal and incredibly frighting atmosphere. This trailer just felt like a completely different movie altogether (likely because of the different director) only taking the plot and some characters from the previous movie, but leaving out all that made the first movie brilliant. Of course this is just a trailer but so far I'm very disappointed considering Sinister is my favorite horror movie and this just seems as you said "generic".

When exactly that scene came up. I paused the movie. Turned on the light in my room. Turned on the tv so i could have some "company" with me. And only listened with 1 ear in my headset. This was honestly a very amazing sequel. Please don't listen to the bad critic reviews. The characters were very well-developed, and the plot was just as great as the first one, if not more intriguing. This movie is literally amazing. The difference between the two ( sinister & sinsiter 2 ) is that the first movie focuses more on putting the story together and really finding out what's going on. Other than the second one which it is more focused on the kids and how the children our corrupted. I really enjoyed this movie and I definetly give it a 5 out of 5.

I liked the first Sinister a lot...more disturbing-freaky-creepy than scary and that's what gets under your skin. This Sequel looks really good too with more scares and the children! Can't wait to see it!

My take: 1. Did slender man grow hair or did a member of slipknot want to be in a movie 2. Jumpscares... im terrified 3. At the end is that kid scared he's holding up an old camera? For gods sake my 6 year old sister laughed at that 4. Slender slipknot demon thing wants the kids oh no.... the family survives the end 5. Ghost show their deaths because.... why? 6. The song was more interesting then the trailer 7. Brother/sister concerned for sibling cliche 8. Kid sees footage of murder cliche 9. Mother wont let anything happen to her kids cliche 10. Kid shows sibling something relating to the plot cliche 11. House in what is basically the middle of nowhere cliche 12. "Your family's in danger" cliche 13. Demon has reference in all cultures cliche 14. Demon hunts family cliche 15. Demon goes after kids cliche 16. Demon grabs kid cliche 17. Demon scares protagonist rather then just killing them cliche 18. Cinemasins is gonna have a field day with this 19. Demon/ghost wears formal wear cliche ( at least to me it looks like formal wear ) 20. Demon prefers to scare every one rather then just killing them. 21. No ones ever survived an encounter with this particular demon cliche 22. Music plays to horrible site cliche 23. So... many... cliches cliche... wait what? 24.Demon scares someone in a photo cliche because.... it can 25. Family moves to a house where evil is cliche  26. In the end, the child goes so insane (soul being eaten/manipulated by demon) and brutally murders their whole family and films the whole thing. Afterwards, the demon takes the child, and the child joins the rest of the kids that killed their families (and are basically dead, but can't move on to the afterlife). At least that's what I got from watching the first movie. First movie was the perspective of an adult (the parent), this one appears to be in the perspective of a kid being taken over slowly. It also looks like the other dead kids are trying to help him. Does this information help at all?

Most of what I said, including the whole filming part, was about the first movie, not the trailer of the second one.

The first sinister is honestly probably one of the best horror movies I've seen, and I've seen a lot. Horror movies have kind of started to stop affecting me as much, but I'm sure if I watched sinister again it would scare me. The first time my friends and I saw boogie, we instantly we scared. I think it's because the plot wasn't as predictable, it was kind of one of those ones you just didn't understand until the end. Since it was one of my favourites I'm just hoping this movie doesn't ruin it for me

It’s the VERY reason why the sequel was not as effective or terrifying. The original there was this “mystery” aspect to it but by the end we knew the “formula” so to make a sequel it was a mistake to be honest because we already know what’s going to happen essentially

I enjoyed this film, not as much as the first one but still. I liked that we got to see the kids points of view in this one and more exposed murders! the way the families were killed were so unique lol I have no idea how they thought of these different murders. We also got to enjoy another good soundtrack and they even included the classic creepy song from the first one. I'm not sure about anyone else but everytime he popped up on screen I was terrified 😰! I will definitely watch again
