I found this video because my driver side visor is loose (ironically after my last service at the dealership). I promise I thought they did something so that I could go and spend more money. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but I spent $96 for them to “fix” a screw that was loose in my console lid. How could that possibly become loose?! I cannot even access it without a pry tool! The fix for me will probably be to just to screw in the visor again, under the piece that you popped off. I validated this by simply pushing it in with my mirror slide open, and the light comes on again. To be honest, I did not notice that the light was not working until I saw your video. Thanks!!!

Had the same issue. I did the same fix with a spacer for the passenger. The adhesive didn't stay well in hot weather so it ended up jamming inside. I was so frustrated that I did the "rigorous open and close" method and it fixed itself. Did the method to the driver side and it worked too. Congrats on the new home btw!

I’ve been having this issue and I’m so glad someone made this vid! After I got it to work, I actually think it might be my lightbulb. It turns on, but it flickers. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks for the video! I was thinking this whole time it was the bulb and it wasn’t. So I continued watching the video and started to attempt to remove the mirror and just by prying up on the mirror while on the car, the light started to work and I’ve tested it multiple times and it works! Thanks so much!

Thank you for posting this video as my passenger side wasn’t working and I seen the bulb wasn’t burnt so I replaced them anyway with a LED Bulb and did exactly like your video and it’s working great now…Keep up the great work…

Thanks for the insight. When you said it might just be a contact i tried moving my mirror cover back and forth rapidly a few times. The bulb flickered a few times so i knew it wasnt a blown lamp. Seems to have cleared the oxidation and working now

Great video. Both visors on my IS F are dead. I was not excited at all about buying new or junkyard visors, so this is a real lifesaver. Going to pop them off and get fixed right now.

I tried the coat hanger trick and may have inadvertently moved part of the pin switch that I didn't want to. do you know where I can find a diagram of the function of the switch. maybe like a top view. can i help For my 2006 Is250, according to your method, I changed the compartment lights until I replaced the tail lights. It should be a fuse, but I can’t find the exact location. Can someone tell me? Thanks

This is common issue. It’s the contact pin inside.

I replaced all my bulbs to LED bulbs and all my interior lights and puddle lights stopped working. I changed out the fuse in the engine compartment and nothing. I tested the new fuse and there’s no power running to that fuse. Any idea how to fix that or what the issue could be?

Hey, My driver side mirror cracked and I am planning on replacing it with the passenger side side visor mirror. Just like in the video, I plan to pry it out from the passenger side, reverse it, and snap it onto the driver side. Will that work? Thank tou

Yes the mirror is reversible. Be careful, the slider must be open for frame to pop out. When in close position, it has tabs that lock it in place.

Which lights? The vanity is 194. The dome are various festoon bulbs.

There is no way to get a camera into there to see the fix. I posted the photos as best I could taking down the visor.
