I heard this movie is one of the reasons Marvel had to scrap their initial Blade script because it was a period piece set in New Orleans just like this movie, but Coogler and Jordan beat Marvel to the punch. So they had to toss out that draft on account of it being way too similar.

You know, the vampire genre is always an interesting sub genre of horror that has never really felt like it got its do for me in terms of giving us an all-time great film at least based off what I’ve seen. 30 Days of Night is the best one I’ve seen. Between Sinners and Nosferatu coming out soon we’re in for some good stuff from some good filmmakers.🙏
