Went to a Siouxsie gig when I was about 9 years old ... at the front ... decided to stick my head in a speaker ... couldn't hear properly for over a week ... don't do it kids ..

He was member of the Banshees during 82-84, right when the videoclip happened (Hyaena album)

He would put the Cure on hold and help out the Banshees a couple of times.👍

Prudence is Mia Farrow's sister. The Beatles went to India to learn about transcendental meditation, Mia and her sister went, something happened and Prudence decided to spend most the trip in her room. Hence the line 'dear Prudence, won't you come out to play.'

I just realized that Juliet Lewis was dancing like Siouxsie does at 3:32 (this video) in Natural Born Killers at the beginning of the movie when they were at the diner and the redneck crashed her jukebox moment. I called it, but I don't know if she was deliberately emulating her dance or not, but it wouldn't surprise me if I learned that Juliet Lewis was a Siouxsie and the Banshees fan.

Hi guys, just discovered your channel and enjoying your reaction vids. For Siouxsie and the Banshees, you need to try some of their earlier singles. Robert Smith was a temporary stand in member in 78 and 82-83. Their main guitarist before then was John McGeogh who was great, and had also been in the post-punk band Magazine. Check out the Siouxsie singles Happy House, Christine, Israel or Spellbound. Think you'd enjoy.

was at the record shop they broke up in Aberdeen when Robert Smith saved the day and my ticket lol.

The whole album almost feels more like a Robert Smith project with Siouxsie on vocals, it's very different to the albums before and after. Not my favourite banshees album but a nice one to put on when you want something a bit different...

some songs should never be remade. this is one of them. they turned a classic into a country song.
@chrismeyer97015 ай бұрын
I beg to differ. This is the 2nd best Beatles remake, only trailing Joe Cocker's A Little Help From "Me" Friends. Both classic covers

1. This was the Banshees' second and last top ten hit in the UK. I heard it at the time, in unfortunate circumstances, and loathed it (admittedly I was also in a major Beatles-scholarship phase) - it took over a decade before I could listen to it with some clarity and accept it as a valid reinterpretation. 2. In the video you see Budgie, somewhat less than sober, being pursued back over the bridge by police who were about to arrest the band for filming someplace they didn't have permission 3. What really happened with Robert is he burnt himself out with assorted drugs (hallucinogens plus coke), and convinced himself - and his doctor! - that he may have been near-death with toxaemia. Siouxsie wasn't buying it (fair enough), and a decade later she was still convinced he'd cruelly ditched them on the eve of a tour just so he could get The Cure back up and running (inaccurate). Robert didn't manage to detox until the end of that year - when The Cure went on the road he was still somewhat disoriented and out of control musically (beware of 1984 bootlegs, says this Cure-a-holic).

Just some light poking lol ;) You don't have to *be* depressed, but goth--as it tugs at the listener's angst--is a style itself. I'll bet if the camera turned around we'd find bro here 5:05 is watching a Pat Boone song. Sister might be watching Louis Armstrong singing about the wonderful world. 😉✌
