Was looking at them only last week 😬 and that’s as far as it’s gonna get 😉 Like you Rob I too got hit by handling fees from sip so now only order parts that don’t go over £135 and last order it took them a whole week before it was shipped. More expensive items will be bought from dealers that I know and trust 😁

I actually fell for their pay å fiver extra for fast handling scam too. It will be a cold day in hell before I buy from them again. Still haven't heard anything back from them 🤷♂️ I asked for an explanation and a refund 😂
@exsoulagent3 жыл бұрын
@@kickbackgarage I doubt you will here anything back from them Rob as they one of the big players along with SCK who don’t need too answer any reply. I’ve stopped buying from SCK direct as a result of an issue I had with them.
@kickbackgarage3 жыл бұрын
Shame. Sck is my "local' and got good service from them.

Thank you for your solidarity. You saved lambrettistas a lot of money.

Rob, would you suggest machining the inner race to fit the fork? Also, when you were attempting to hammer in the bearing I noticed you have a short piece of pipe. In those situations I've had better luck with a long thick pipe that comes up past the top of the fork, so you can get a more solid and even blow when fitting.
@kickbackgarage3 жыл бұрын
I've measured 3 forks now and they all vary 🙈 I've come to the stage that if expensive parts don't fit then I ask the dealer for a refund. Otherwise they just carry on sending Ill fitting parts out to customers.
@NeverNotMaking3 жыл бұрын
Maybe you need to stick your forks in the freezer for a few days to shrink down that tolerance. Definitely won't be a pain to remove those bearings later on...
@kickbackgarage3 жыл бұрын
Mate, the fork won't shrink a whole mm. They are steel, not alloy.
@NeverNotMaking3 жыл бұрын
@@kickbackgarage Sure it will! You just need a REALLY cold fridge. And maybe a lathe.
@mikecowdrey28915 ай бұрын
Don't you fit the cup part into the frame then put the bearing on the forks?
@kickbackgarage4 ай бұрын
The bearin on the forks, yes. The cup in the frame and the bearing race in the cup. Unfortunately the bearing race doesn't fit in the cup once the cup is installed.

Shame that as the idea is there but obviously the product doesn’t meet the requirements... in your case anyway Rob, don’t think I’ll be rushing out to change mine anytime soon but glad I hadn’t ordered this for my recent S2 build a few months ago ... I’d have given up long before you did .... good vid/info as always 👍

The problem is that I've measured 3 forks and they are all different. 🙈

I always thought a handling fee was if you returned non faulty parts ? And the SIP website is always hard work to find what your looking for .
@kickbackgarage3 жыл бұрын
The courier takes a fee for working out how much vat to take. Here in Norway (non EU) its usually between £17-£40 randomly 🙈

Have you contacted SIP about this? Be interesting to gear what they have to say

Just a tiny bit! £130 down the drain. No answer from SIP.

That stings. Never had to use SIP support myself but your experience sounds common, sadly. Try sending it back as not fit for purpose.

£30 in postage and I'll never get the handling fee or vat back. 🙈

In my opinion you can’t trust the sip and bgm stuff at all. Of course cables maybe an inner tube, or gearbox oil and some other small bits you can use. But the rest is shite. My Vespa sip exhaust is good. On the other hand a bgm v4 exhaust is one of the biggest failures. The bgm stainless rims are nice. But dare you if you fit technical advanced stuff from them!
@kickbackgarage3 жыл бұрын
I've had good success with sip vape 12v system and no probs the bgm stuff. 🤷♂️

As a rule of thumb I's say that all the BGM stuff made in Germany for Lambretta like the ss rims, the flywheel, the rectifier are of very good quality. The engine silentblock have a good reputation, but I got zero experience in using them so far. The V4 exhaust is not the most powerful, but the best I have had so far. IIt lasts and is quiet. And I had all clubmen except for Tutto Lambretta / Stratos, R. Saxelby and the new Ex-Box. The V4 is made in Spain by the way. The bare RT cylinder and head is without any doubts good quality. The rest I buy from other dealers respectively suppliers. But it's the same story as you might know - you can't get all parts from one brand or dealer. Some stuff is good, some not.
@heislpartie3 жыл бұрын
Why are you buying this sip nonsense? If you stick to the original type of for bearings and use only balls and no cage top and bottom there should be no problem. My forks on my two series 2 machines work perfect. I would never do that. Never.
@kickbackgarage3 жыл бұрын
I bought them so I could make a video before others do. Robs public service. You're welcome 😂
