Siphon Nozzle

Testing a siphon nozzle I got on AliExpress. Couldn't find a UK seller. Trying it on diesel to check its operation then for the next video waste oil.

To make it burn more efficiently you need to regulate the flow of fuel. This can be easily done using a needle valve in the fuel supply pipe. The air pressure needs to be 8 to 10 PSI and once started the oil needs to be fine tuned to get efficient burn. Cutting the fuel flow will eliminate the airborne unburnt fuel and the flame will burn hotter.

David, great job, in fact you have an amazing nozzle there, the ability to be self sustaining is the proof. All you need now to allow all the diesel to completely burn is simply some type of combustion chamber, a simple tube. Without it there's no way to burn a heavyer oil, and Temperature s will be low.

Do you think tbhat a tropical fish tank heater placed in the waste oil would heat it enough to thin it ? Cheers

I had the same issue. Realized the videos I watched that worked had some form of tube or pipe that the nozzle sits inside (burn chamber?). I put my nozzle inside of a pipe and it worked without being heated using waste transmission fluid.

You should try a waste oil heater just wrap copper tubing into a circle small and then back into the beginning of the coil and put waste vegetable oil gravity feed in once heated flames heat the outside coil vaporizing the oil did it once in my backyard was cooler then elon musks flame thower!

would using the heat of the burning fuel to preheat the compressed air and feed it to the nozzle help?

Hi mate. Did you get it to run with waste oil? Does it use a lot of air? Just wondering what sort of compressor would be needed to run it.

It will if you heat the oil. Just needs to be hot enough that makes it as thin as diesel. I hadn't measured the flow rate but it was only running at something like 10psi.

Just hot enough to thin it. The hotter you can get it the easier it will burn and self sustain though.

you have the hoses around the wrong way. It will work better if the oil is fed through the centre and the air is allowed to suck the oil out through the end of the small tube.

@@DavidMcLuckie wasn't sure if tired to look at your video is you did use it to see bc I home made my waste oil burner with gravity feed and a woodstove blower gets up to about 1000 try to keep it at 7 to 800 degrees heats about an acre house and basement wanna do one for grage and pool but this part looks less work to make lol

It looks like your nozzle is way too large for that amount of air pressure. To much unburnt oil vapor in the air. A smaller nozzle size would be more efficient and less polluting. Of course the BTU will be reduced. Waste oil burn's hotter than diesel that could make up for the nozzle reduction
