What beautiful scenery! ...and so skilfully captured, as always. Lud's Church looks spectacular. Have you seen the 2021 movie The Green Knight? I'm an incredibly fussy beggar when it comes to films but I _think_ I actually liked it. I wouldn't want to wholeheartedly commit to saying that for any big budget (i.e. non-KZbin) production. Perhaps I just caught it in the right mood or something...? I had a slightly surreal outer body experience when you said "It's hardly Tweedy Outdoors is it?" and thought "Oooh is Tweedy going to make an appearance?" then reminded myself I might have had some prior knowledge of it had that been the case. Although of course in this modern era of AI, who knows? Congratulations once again on reaching the 1000 milestone - here's to many more!

I must master this AI thing, now you come to mention it! But I’m sure an AI Tweedy Outdoors wouldn’t be able to conjure up wonderful food and wine in the middle of nowhere?! I haven’t seen that film, and like you I think, modern films rarely get a viewing. It sounds like I should give it a go. Glad you enjoyed the scenery - having not been there for nearly 10 years, I really had forgotten how wonderful it is. Thank you for all your help in getting my channel to this milestone!

You can get a brief but better view, of them on last Sunday's video: The British Boulder that defeated the Romans! I think this is the "model": Men's SL Active Walking Boots. They're by Scarpa. I don't like the trendy - almost trainer like - modern style boots. I believe this model has been made the same way for decades. I've found them incredible comfortable so far and they seem to be better quality than the Hill Masters, that seem to have gone to pot since Berghaus took over from Brasher. I hope that helps.

@@WC21UKProductionsLtd you’re welcome! It gets pretty cold in New Zealand winter time. However it looks like near the Roache they didn’t have much cover. Wallaby over here like to live in thick scrub. Impressed by the rolling green hills of England and the lack of pest plants. In NZ it is beautiful but pest plants are a constant battle for farmers

Mermaids are like whales, they can sneak inland. In Milburn, south of Dunedin, is a fossilised skellington of a whale, over 15 km inland! And its up a steep hill.
@WC21UKProductionsLtd8 ай бұрын
There is a fair bit of cover along the escarpment edge at the Roaches, but those poor old wallabies must have had a nightmare with all the dogs being walked along the top. In fact, I did read some accounts of them being chased off the edge by dogs. Incredible they lasted so long up there!

Perhaps the mermaid rode in on the back of a whale?! Or perhaps got scooped out of the sea by an eagle and dropped in the Doxey Pool! Incredible about that whale. It fascinates me that the limestone of the Yorkshire Dales was once under the sea, south of the equator!

Great scenery and fun...That mermaid must be one tough old girl if she can manage a winter up there in that pool!. Wallabies do live high up in the Australian mountains on the mainland as well as down here in Tasmania. They can endure cold temps and periods of snow on the ground quite easily. That being said, even the coldest Aussie winters don't compare to the harsh conditions of the occasional severe winters the UK experiences, especially at elevation.
@WC21UKProductionsLtd8 ай бұрын
Thanks Phil! I didn't know that wallabies were that hardy. I wonder if it was the presence of hikers and dogs that drove them into extinction on the Roaches? I read an account of one winter - I think it was 1979 - where people found dead wallabies laying around after the snow melted. Possibly it was a food supply issue. Intriguing that they grew to quite a population and then declined. The mermaid is apparently alive and well, though!
@philcollinson3288 ай бұрын
@@WC21UKProductionsLtd Dogs are more likely the long term cause for the Wallabies demise ....Wallabies are perfectly able to last cold winter conditions, but they are easy prey for dogs who are a unnatural predator to them.
