As someone that went bald fast in his late teens, Patrick Stewart knows the struggle. I'm fine with it now as an adult, but as a balding 19 year old it's rough on you, especially when you don't have access to a good wig-maker.

I always found that wearing a wig is somehow worse. Going from long beautiful hair at 16 to completely bald at 20 was rough, but I shaved off what was left and kept my bald head high. It was tough, but I never showed it.

If i remember correctly, he said in the past that he had 2 friends have an intervention with him. They held him down against his will and shaved off the comb over, and he was so upset and traumatized about it, but then ended up accepting it when he realized girls would still date him. I've liked him since Dune 😉

He had such a powerful presence on Star Trek. In universe the character could have hair if he wanted by why bother, power move. They tried screen tests with a wig, I am glad it was decided against.

Roddenberry was against it. someone at the studio said 'in the 24th century they would have a cure for baldness' and Roddenberry responded 'in the 24th century nobody would care'. They did screen test him with a wig and he looked so preposterous that the studio backed down.

My Dad is Irish and was working in London at the time in London, my dad was from a very poor background also, 1 of 8 and his father was a ploughman. My dad did service in the Congo in 1961 as an Irish UN peacekeeper. He's 84, difference between himself (Andy) and Patrick, Andy has a full head of wavy white hair and had the old age pension, Patrick Probably has a few more Bob in the bank lol😅. I like Patrick Stewart, very grounded man, came from a poor background and deserves everything he got in life. Conan and the Paddywhackery again 😅😅😅

Same Boat here, Started balding at 16, I was destined to go bald obviously My Dad was Bald not that that means All people with bald parents become bald but my dad was totally George From Seinfeld by 21. I took steroids at 16 ans my hair started coming out so I believe it speed up the process of the male pattern Baldness. I stopped jucing and I stopped blading and thankfully it went kind if slow, Im from Jamaica Queens NYC and Grew up as Hip Hop head in the Hip Hop Era so I always wore hats, Hoodies etc. When I was 27 my Father and I went to see Die hard 4 and that was the first time I ever saw Bruce totally skinned and He looked amazing, a lot younger a lot cooler etc, as soon as we left that theater I dropped pop's off and went to my barber and said shave it all off, He was like what a 1 clip? I said no string Blade it, lol Best choice I ever made in my Life, I love having a bald head it fits me, I have been rocking a full beard since I was 16 also, I jave had beards and Goatees of all kids since I was 15 but the Bald head, Full beard look fit Me the best, Im 46 now so its 19 years shaving my head, Now the male pattern baldness is over, If I go a few days without shaving I have the George Costansa look lol its all gone except the sides and back. Some men are just meant to be bald.
