Helmets make you take greater risks and get hit on the head/body more, proven in the stats since headgear become compulsory with more head injuries (certainly in 1st class cricket). Batters are much worse at dealing with the rising ball than BITD and that's much inpart down to the fact batters don't feel at risk due to wearing protection. It's subconscious but does play a part in all sports were headgear is worn and none of it has a positive outcome from wearing.
@firehorse52065 жыл бұрын
yep he treated them with utter disdain and no respect , just how the Aussies should be treated
@tonyfranklin83065 жыл бұрын
@swampy You are utterly clueless! More injuries post helmet wearing, how many deaths pre and post helmet rules? People die getting out the bath, falling off a ladder at home, helmets for all right, more drivers die of head injuries than cyclists, I bet you wear a helmet for cycling but not for driving eh yah mug! Batters AND bowlers take greater risks thinking they (the batters)are more protected, and yet the helmets have proven to be inadequate to protect from death and even injuries. Family friendly, what does that even mean? The helmet wearing as a solution to prevent injury has been a failure globally in all sports and activities, cycling, cricket, boxing, Lacrosse, Ice Hockey, Skiing and particularly gridiron. All sports were injuries went up or at best stayed the same but with lower participants despite helmet wearing being virtually universal or made a rule of the sport. Bother to allay yourself with the facts

Look at his feet. Picking up length so early and deciding within milliseconds do I need to be on my front or the back foot. This is an extremely rare talent. These days the batsmen prefer to shuffle to mess with the bowlers head but this man here is so lethal but yet extremely elegant. I'm so sure he could have played matches without his pads as well.

Manish Pandey is a better batsman than Viv Richards. Manish Pandey scored an unbeaten century against Australia in Australia in Sydney in SCG while chasing the target of 330 in his fourth ODI of his career. Viv Richards can never play an innings like Manish Pandey even in his dreams. Manish Pandey is the greatest batsman. Viv Richards is nothing compared to him. Manish Pandey is way much better batsman than Viv Richards. Manish Pandey batsman beautifully unlike Viv Richards who bats like thrash. Viv Richards can't play Dale Steyn but Manish Pandey could easily play Dale Steyn. I don't know why Viv Richards was taken in west indies team and why Manish Pandey wasn't taken in Indian. Manish Pandey is way much better batsman than Viv Richards. Watch this innings of Manish Pandey which Viv Richards can never play. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2fCnq2gppl9qdE

Utter legend. You could have transported Viv Richards in a time machine frim mid 80s to modern day 20/20 cricket and he would still be a sensation. There aren't many players you can say that about
@NarendranAshok Жыл бұрын
My favourite aspect of Sir Viv's batting is that he attacked all types of deliveries and aimed to score 4s / 6s off all of them. Defence / leaving and taking risky singles to rotate the strike were never part of his game and he never hesitated while playing his shots. Though he played his shots late after allowing the ball to fully come onto him - he was so confident and self-assured while smashing the opposition's bowling to all parts of the ground. Sir Viv was 'once-in-a-lifetime' batsman and the period that he played cricket in can well be called 'The Vivian Richards Era'.

Remember how bad bats were in those days. Thin, heavily pressed (so every big hit rang in your fingers). Richards had a huge bat, but if he had a modern day bat of the same weight he'd have scored a hell of a lot more boundaries.

He played in an era of the fastest and most dangerous bowlers in history and never once wore a helmet. Not even against his own team-mates Holding, Roberts, Garner, Marshall, Croft and the rest of the Caribbean express. A few years ago on BBC radio i came across this fascinating 30+ min podcast with Michael Holding telling stories about Viv. Holding was saying viv was the only batsman that sledged him and was scared bowling at. He recalled how Viv told him once the next time you toss the ball up i'm hitting it as hard as i can straight at you. Holding didn't pitch another ball up, apparently Viv intimidated all bowlers in the Caribbean, ruined many a young bowlers career. Holding said he'd smash all the WI quicks out of the ground, and the same at WI net practice. He explain why Viv should of averaged in the 60s, he didn't give a stuff about his average or big 100s, he wanted to entertain and as soon as the WI side had enough runs he'd try and hit every ball to the boundary. They didn't need much of a lead with the attack they had. I'm still searching for that podcast, i haven't heard better.
