Razer Deathadder V2 Pro Review. Finally, you palm grippers have a premium mouse you can call your own with Gen 2 optical switches, the best sensor on the market, 100% PTFE, wireless, and an ergonomic right-handed shape. It's an excellent mouse for right-handed users that have medium to large hands and use a palm grip. For others outside of that it may vary.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN DEATHADDERS:
The Deathadder Essential is their base model at $49.99 and is overpriced for subpar tech and should be avoided. In my mind it doesn’t exist. The Deathadder Mini also costs $49.99 but comes with improved internals and beats the Deathadder Essential in every category but is smaller in stature compared to its siblings. The Deathadder Elite has now been replaced with the Deathadder V2 that costs $69.99 which comes with the best specs they have to offer and is the one I recommend if you are going wired. If you want wireless we are now onto this mouse which is the Razer Deathadder V2 Pro.

You can totally get insane movement and aim with this mouse at almost any sensitivity. In fact, for fine aiming, this is one of the best large ergo mice. Many pros use the Deathadder. The way it puts the balance of your hand over your fingers make centering around the map at chest/head height very steady, and the lack of rear palm contact makes it easy to flick off of your center quickly and accurately. The sensor is about 50dpi fast on average like most Razer mice, but it is uber responsive and consistent. My only beef with the shape, and where the EC1 improves on it, is the top of the right flare is somewhat sharp and digs into my ring finger right at the nail. Kind of a deal breaker for me, but just wanted to set the record straight that this is one of the sweatiest FPS mice, period, and probably the most technologically sound large wireless ergo on the market.

Oh man, absolutely loved the rundown! I appreciate you taking the time to share. Shape is so critical and little tiny things really do make or break a mouse. I've been a huge fan of the Focus+ sensor because the performance you can get out of it is absolutely insane. Mice are just now starting to catch up and it's still holding top spot.

@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 2 жыл бұрын
@@pazonk4376 I don't know what your grip style is. If it isn't palm then the V2 Pro is not going to be a good choice. If it is palm I still worry that the mouse may be a bit too large for your hand to be comfortable (but I wouldn't know for sure until you tried it). The Razer Viper V2 Pro just dropped. Like literally a couple of minutes ago. I just ordered one. But with the Razer Viper Ultimate being one of my favorites of all time and it now having new updates that will hopefully address the very small shortcomings it's hard for me not to recommend that one. The RVU tends to be more of a fingertip/claw grip mouse. But with your hand size palm may also work. If you don't care about the new updates you can probably find the RVU for cheap as it will likely be going on clearance.

I should’ve also mentioned that I am currently using a Deathadder Elite and it fits my hand pretty well, although it is a bit bigger than my hand being fully spread out on it. how does the mouse perform when dragging items across the desktop/multiple monitors, selecting text, or just making select boxes on the desktop? does it stutter or is it fluent like a wired mouse?
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 3 жыл бұрын
It does beautifully without any issues whatsoever just like a wired mouse. You won't be able to tell a difference. If you do notice stutter then you've got a defective unit. It's actually been found that a lot of the top tier wireless mice (which this is) actually perform faster and better than a lot of wired mice.

@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 3 жыл бұрын
I main a Viper 8K. As I think it is the better mouse for my preferences. I would also say objectively the Viper 8K is better than the Deathadder V2 (wired variant). Since the Viper supports 8,000 Hz and is lighter. But otherwise they have the same specs outside of shape. Compared to the Deathadder V2. Again I think the 8k is better. But it comes down to personal preference again. The Viper is lighter, supports 8,000 Hz, and has the same specs as the Deathadder outside of not being wireless and having a different shape). But if you palm grip, have a large hand, and hate cords then the Deathadder may be a better fit. I'd also argue that the side buttons are better on the Deathadder. I wouldn't have too much buyers remorse. But my recommendation would be to try out the Viper 8k. Compare it to your other Deathadder in comparison to shape. If you end up really liking the Viper 8k then keep it. If you hate it then return it and buy the Deathadder V2. For example if you think you preform better with the Viper 8K (at 1,000 Hz) because it feels more responsive but can't stand the shape then you'll probably prefer the Deathadder V2 as it has the same internals but a shape you like. The caveat here would be if you feel a huge difference between 8,000/4,000 Hz and 1,000 Hz. As you can't get that on the Deathadder. Which is why I personally use the Viper 8k more than wireless mice. But prefer the freedom of wireless mice. So I tend to switch back and forth depending on what I am doing and how I am feeling that day.

i want to move to all wireless setup (mouse, keyboard and headset) is it a good idea to buy a USB hun and place it right under my monitor to be as close as possible to the devices ?
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 11 ай бұрын
I think with Razer's newest wireless devices you can connect two devices to a single dongle. Plus they come with extenders making it so you'd only need two things plugged in instead of three. I think some other companies do something similar but can't remember off the top of my head. I think I've read somewhere that you should try and keep distance between your wireless dongle and USB Hubs/PC. But I'd recommend researching that further yourself for confirmation. I think it says in the actual documentation it comes with. My thoughts on why that would be are: 1. With so many devices next to each other (either on PC or Hub) and depending on the build quality/components of the USB hub/PC it can add interference. Just like when it is connected to your PC. Which is why they tend to give extenders. Which I think would be fine if plugged into a Powered USB Hub. As I personally haven't had issues with my devices when plugged into a USB Hub that is away from my computer but all my USB Hubs are powered. I have had issues with it plugged directly into my desktop PC (without the extender) but not laptop. 2. If you have a non-powered USB hub it may not be able to provide enough stable power to all your devices which can cause abnormalities to happen. So you'd want to get a powered USB hub you'd have more than enough. I suppose maybe if that power being delivered to the Hub isn't being regulated well that could also add inference but I'm grasping at straws there. 3. Technically, USB shares bandwidth and usually isn't on separate lanes. But especially, with a HUB it will be sharing the bandwidth with whatever else is connected. If you had a stupid amount of high powered devices plugged in at the same time it may over saturate that lane and cause abnormalities as well. But that is pretty hard to do. But barring you don't have any issues then yes, if you bought a POWERED USB Hub and kept it under your monitor it would help assure you don't run into any issues. However, I'm not sure if you need that added cost (depending on what you buy) as most wireless gaming peripherals come with a USB-A to USB-C cable -> USB-C to USB-A adapter. Which allows it to get distance from your PC (and other electrical interference) to give you the best signal. If you buy a product where you can pair both say the mouse and keyboard to a single dongle then you'd only need two ports on your PC open for it instead of three. Making the need for a hub less likely. That was a super long answer for a simple question. Sorry.

The specs are going to be pretty similar between the two. The biggest differences are going to be shape and weight. With mice being personal I can't really tell you which to get. As it comes down to what you are looking for. I've heard some users absolutely love the Razer Viper Ultimate. I've heard other who report that they prefer the Deathadder because they perform the best with it. I guess my recommendation would be it depends on your grip style and hand size. If you have a larger hand with more of a palm grip you'll probably prefer the Deathadder. If you are more of a claw or fingertip grip and play super competitively the Razer Viper may be best for you. I think either way you win as they are both great mice.

I have the cheap Basilsk x wireless it randomly shuts off even though im using it, does this do that? the other thing i was wondering if you had any thoughts on the after market charging stands? i bought this mouse over the roccat kain 200 because it has bluetooth and im looking for a bigger mouse because i have big hands. I bought a new sealed box 1 on ebay for 58 including shipping. i mostly just play mmo's .
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 2 жыл бұрын
Your Basilisk X shouldn't randomly shut off when you are using it. I'd recommend going through the RMA process (if applicable). I'm not sure if that will work since you got it off Ebay? But it would be worth checking out regardless. No, this mouse does not do that and no wireless mouse should. As that means it is defective. You mention Bluetooth. You should make sure to be using the HyperSpeed Wireless when gaming. As that will give you the lowest latency. Also, you want to make sure the wireless dongle is as close as possible. As if it is too far away it can cause drops. You can also use Bluetooth during normal browsing as that will make your battery last a lot longer but has higher latency. As for the aftermarket charging stands. I've never even heard of them. I thought the stock charging dock was $30. Looks like it is $50. That's outrageous. WTF? An aftermarket one should work just fine. As pogo pins with the correct current shouldn't be an issue. But I didn't think the Razer Basilisk X had pogo pins on the bottom for that to work in the first place. Or did I misunderstand your question? Also, if you end up buying the Deathadder V2 Pro directly from Razer for full price. I'd recommend buying the BUNDLE which makes the dock $30 over $50 so the Mouse and the Dock would be $150. Alternatively, if you are going to go full price, it may be cheaper to go to Best Buy or Amazon (depending on where you live) and get the Razer Viper Ultimate and Deathadder V2 Pro (as they are both on sale for about $80). Then you would get the RVU w/ charging dock and Deathadder V2 Pro for about the same price. Two mice is better than one for the same price? Otherwise finding a cheap Deathadder V2 Pro right now is doable as I think they are on sale for a great price at Amazon ($52 for renewed or $75 for new) and Best Buy ($89 which will price match Amazon FYI) assuming you live in the US. If you happen to get it off Amazon (and only do that if you were going to anyways. As I want you to do what is best for YOU. I'd love for you to use my affiliate link so I can get a small commission which is linked in the description).

So, if he has a KZbin channel he may be selling products he bought or got for free at reduced prices. Especially, if he is a popular KZbinr (by that I mean high subscriber and view count) as selling a product would mean less as the money he would make off the video would be good enough that selling the product to recuperate loss would be less needed. But $72 is like unbelievably cheap for that so that makes me highly suspicious. My thought process is if you can see the product before buying then I'd go for it. As then you can verify it is legit. If you can't see the product before buying then I guess it depends on how much you value $72 and are willing to sacrifice it in the case of it being a scam. I think things look encouraging but scams have gotten super good these days and $72 is super cheap for that keyboard which sounds a bit too good to be true which usually means it is too good to be true. The only reason why I'm supportive is because he has a KZbin channel and sometimes like I said people sell things for way reduce prices just to get rid of them. But man it's a hard call. @@pressingrock Oh how frustrating! As for the Kone Pro Air. I heard it is based on the PMW3370 sensor which is close to the Razer Focus+. But I'd still argue that the Focus+ is a step up. As the specs are still a step up in all regards and the Focus+ has some other tech that makes it more accurate outside of the specs that the PMW3370 doesn't have. However, I'd also argue at this point we are splitting hairs as both of those sensors are a 10/10. Assuming the spec sheet is correct without any significant issues like we have experienced with the MOW BAMF sensor. Also, I think the Roccat would likely be a better choice for you anyways since you really enjoy the Burst Pro already and this new mouse looks very similar. I also much prefer the pre-heated PTFE feet and overall feel of the Roccat over Razer. As I think their products feel a bit more solid and premium. Especially the coating. I have no idea. As there isn't a way you can guarantee it. They slowly made changes to the switches and are still making changes to make them better. Plus if your clicks feel good then there is no reason to be concerned about it. If they don't then I'd exchange it. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Aerox 3 wireless va deathadder v2 pro for craw ?
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 2 жыл бұрын
I find the Aerox 3 to be better for claw. I like the shape, size, and weight more. I would say the clicks (primary) are better. But the side clicks and sensor (by a mild amount) are better on the Deathadder. Also, Deathadder is optical switches over mechanical if that matters to you. So my pick would be the Aerox 3 Wireless. I'd love to hear which one you went for and your thoughts on it.

this or orochi v2 or deathadder v2 x?
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, that's a hard call. I can confirm that the Orochi V2 and Deathadder V2 Pro are both excellent mice. As I've tried them. I actually have the Orochi V2 review dropping tomorrow (9 am). With that said the Deathadder V2 X could be fantastic as well if it is similar enough to the Orochi V2. As the mechanical switches are really nice and consistent on the Orochi. The Deathadder V2 Pro has better specs but I'm not sure if it would be worth the extra money at retail cost. But the Deathadder V2 Pro is $69.99 at Best Buy right now. Which is an incredible price. And is probably my recommendation (as looking at two Deathadders makes me think that is more your jam). I think it comes down to your hand size and grip. As the Orochi V2 and Deathadder are dramatically different shapes. The Orochi is a small mouse best for fingertip/claw. The Deathadder is a extra large mouse best for palm. Orochi (depending on battery) weighs a lot less. I'd love to hear which one you go with and your thoughts on it (good or bad).

I was not a fan of it. I'd be interested to see if they improved the Model D Wireless with the updated specs of the Model O - Wireless. As I found that mouse to be excellent.

What mouse could you recommend for me? I play fps games (valorant/csgo) and have 18x10 hands relaxed claw grip
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 3 жыл бұрын
@@angelomiguelramirez8214 Mice really come down to personal preference. So, I would recommend getting together your check boxes (weight, shape, size, clicks, buttons, etc.) and then watch reviews and see which checks the most of the boxes. My recommendation for you since you do a lot of FPS games and have a relaxed claw grip with medium sized hand would be either the G Pro X Superlight or the Viper Ultimate (or Viper 8K if you want to save some money, get 8,000 Hz polling, and wired). As those are two of the best FPS mice that mostly mainly support medium size hands with claw grip and are lightweight with other good specs. This particular mouse also wouldn't be bad but is really mostly made for palm grip.

@@captainaxlerod1297 I still like it a lot and it's going strong without any issues. I do switch mice a lot though just due to having a lot of them. But I still think when it comes to a top of the line palm grip mouse this one is the best or at least fighting for top spot. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it once you get it in.
