A lump of Welsh coal. "You won't find that in your Christmas stocking." Not necessarily true... It used to be a great (now sadly forgotten) New Years Eve first footing tradition to take a lump of coal to your neighbour as a token of prosperity for the year ahead. In exchange for 'a wee deoch an doris'. I've done it very many times and some lumps (pre-mid 1970's) must have been Welsh. Is that close enough?

Tredegar it starts The source of the river is trefil I fished every pool from below the reservoir all the way down to hollybush as a kid

No, you would need to join one of the clubs on the river - Islwyn AA or Gwent AA. This is mentioned in the video. Season runs 3rd March to 30th September.
