Put a straw in the freezer bag, at the corner, then zip up the bag, then suck the air out with the straw, then remove the straw and zip up the freezer bag x

Some of the options we go for in supermarkets, we can actually make them on our own at home besides i find supermarket prepackaged vegetables are expensive. I love living sustainably and if i can make it myself i will honestly rather do that. Our ancestors relied on self sustaining and preserving methods since time immemorial. I use a potato peeler to scrape my carrots. I've found this is quick and easy if you want to try that.

You can also use this method to store tatashe (ball pepper) when they are in season. With that, it will as many as you can store. Then leave it and be buying for use until it goes out of season and become expensive. The only challenge is if in Nigeria, you have to dedicate a freezer that is permanently fixed to power supply (generator, inverter and solar)

Vinegar helps a lot with disinfecting. Preparing mixed vegetables is very helpful since they are always ready when you want them.
