Very new to the sport of MTB.... I got my first MTB 1 month ago ( Polygon Cascade 4- Hardtail ) After my first ride on the trails I was hooked!! and after the 2nd week of riding I was already looking at purchasing my first Dual Suspension bike. After a tonne of research I've decided I want to get a Siskiu T7.... BUT I've made a promise to myself first... I can't purchase the T7 until I learn how to: - Bunny Hop 1-2 ft consistently - Hit small-medium jumps & drops with confidence - Wheelie 100 meters - Graduate my Diploma So far I've got a 1 centimetre bunny hop & a 5 meter scuffed wheelie & theirs a 50% chance I get bucked when hitting a small jump!

I ordered a T8 and hope to get in the next two weeks. I live in south Florida (flat but bumpy/sandy) and have been waiting for a long time. Most people I see here ride Stumpy, Scott or Trek. I’m excited to be the purple odd man out! I’ll be watching for tires, frame chip and reverse cable installs which appear to be the biggest issues from the factory. I look forward to be part of this community. I’m 5’10” first time using a real trail bike compared to my Trek fx4 in the same trails!

I wasnt happy that when my T8 arrived (around 5/01/21) the cool lil cardboard box inside that had all the paperwork and tools etc had been opened and pretty much dumped out inside the big box and the big box had a hole in the bottom from shipping so who knows what was missing. More importantly- they had Vee tire co tires on the bike instead of the Schwalbes that they listed. - Those are worth about half as much by the way. -also a paint chip by the emblem on the headtube. So I emailed them -only about the tires- asking them to take the vee's back and send me the Schwalbes... The bikes online guys try to distance themselves from polygon like it was a different company and took zero responsibility for the manufacturer swap. (polygon is the only bike online bikes sells) They said there was a shortage (obviously you can buy as many Schwalbes as you want on Amazon). They said I should be glad i didnt have to wait longer for the right tires ( I did wait about 4-5 months). Im ok with taking a chance to save money adjusting the bike myself etc, Im not ok with this company not sending me what they advertised and what I paid for.

Got the T8 delivered last week. Had only one short ride @ real trail so far. First ride was great. Rode it completely stock with just a tubeless conversion. My L was 14.70kg/32.4lbs this way. Brakes were ok but not great. Tires did fine, although less traction than either a Dissector or DHRII. Bike is more agile on switchbacks than my Norco Torrent HT and climbs great, while easily having more traction over chatter. Used the included pedals for the 1st ride, were pretty grippy, no complaints with my RC mtb shoes. Grips are also decent, and so was the saddle that many say is a throwaway: nah, i prefer a fabric scoop but its workable. I will transfer my metallic Slx M7120 and swap to my Spank Hex oozy+ wheelset with 203 rotors F/R "soon". SLX drivetrain is superbly crisp, and I would not seek to upgrade anything. Perhaps a i spec ev shifter for the looks when paired with my SLX brakes? The dropper post lever was not perfectly tuned out of the factory, but works. Brake swap will include the MT800 dropper lever that is simply amazing and imho better than pnw, wolftooth etc. Real question is whether to move over the Durolux 36 eq 150mm from the Torrent...

The tyres were the Vee Flow Snap and although grippy basically felt like dragging a fridge behind the bike. Now I run Specialised Eliminator 29 x 2.3 front and back. Grippy AF but fast rolling. I also put a .8 spacer in the rear shock. Great bike, I love it and this video sealed the deal for me

New sub here. Found your channel doing a search on this bike. Thanks for the review. I know a lot of folks who are buying a bike like this are interested in the component spec, but there are a few of us who do bike builds (we already have the components) and are looking for a quality frame with great geo. Can you elaborate about the quality of the frame? For example, how is the fit and finish - are the welds solid, is the paint blemish free, do the linkages fit well together with little slop, etc. Does Polygon use quality parts on the suspension, what are the bearings/bushings like? Is the bike easy to service? Your call out on the cable routing is exactly the stuff I am looking for in a review. I am just hoping you can fill in a few more details. Thanks! .

I definitely think the 500 is well worth the bump up to the T8. One, the parts will make for a much better ride out of the box, and two, if you upgrade parts, you'll get a lot more back when you sell the T8 stuff than you would the parts on the T7. If you plan on riding it in steep & fast trails, I think the T8 is easily better value. The fork alone is more than $500, bought used + tools to install or if you were to pay a LBS for the swap. Deore drivetrain is fine and the T7 is one of the best FS bikes for the $ already. I would prefer the T8 coming with better brakes vs. SLX drivetrain only, but most buyers focus on the latter.

Just bought this bike, can’t for it to get here! What Volume Spacers do I need for the front and rear? I’m 5’11/295lbs so hoping I can just ride it outta the box and learn more about MTBing without major upgrades!

Hello. I have a decision to make, perhaps you could assist: I need to choose one of these 2 options as my next MTB: Option 1: used canyon lux (2016 model carbon fiber, sram xx1, 11x1) condition "ok". Option 2: New Polygon T7. Both options are at the same price. The reason that I'm considering the polygon is that I am worried that the 6 year old xx1 might get too old, and to fix it would cost a fortune. Can anyone please give me some tips what should I do? I ride mostly XC. I will appreciate your input very much!

Hey man thanks for the awesome videos. It would be great to see a T8 vs N9. Haven't been riding for 16 years. I believe I'll be doing more all mountain riding because of where I'm living. So want something that is easy enough to push around everywhere but like the speck of the N9 over the T8. Can afford the N9 but not necessarily the T8 with the upgrades. Wish they made a T8 Is There a massive difference in climbability between the two? Thank you for your time. Have an awesome day.

@@TheShredist I hear ya. Totally subjective. Dan Wolfe says put a 150mm fork on the front end and you have a crazy capable mini enduro rig. So I did lol. Idk...I'm not good enough to say it's any better/worse in terms of capability but no question The 150 RS Lyrik I swapped is a noticeably better fork. Great review! The T8 is a ridiculously sick bike especially at that price point. Polygon hit a grand slam for sure ;)

I already have an enduro bike so I kept it more oriented towards trail riding, so if this is your only ride, I can totally see making it 150 to get more out of it! Either way, stellar bike 🤘

@@TheShredist Great call and that is precisely why I did it...wanted a single bike that could pretty much rip up everything from flowy XC'ish single track to all but the gnarliest of gnarly techy stuff. I don't want to upgrade bikes for a while. It's no lightweight but you can still pedal it and it tracks the ground like a monster truck. Absolutely loving it!

Great review! I'm a large rider at 6'8"/300# and just getting back into riding. I've been drawn to the T8 for the upgrade in components and shocks over the T7. If I'm going to need to upgrade the suspension anyway, do you think it a better move to go with the T7 and use the savings for upgrading suspension and components. OR... do you think that since it's doubtful that I'll be shredding the trails as hard that the T8 is a better option over the T7 and stick with the Fox suspension with some added tokens? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
@TheShredist
@TheShredist 3 жыл бұрын
If you're not going to be going mach 5 and hitting tons of jump lines, I think the fox setup with added spacers would be sufficient. If you're going to be more aggressive of a rider, I think upgrading the suspension would be a good idea, as the fork could use a little help for bigger riders. I got my 34 setup pretty nice before I upgraded mine!

Looking to replace my 2015 Stumpjumper & really cannot justify £4k+ on a bike. Canr decide on this T8 or the bigger N9. I'm mostly riding XC with the odd enduro trail and day rides in the Cairngorm mountains. Im not a happy jumper, too old to start flinging myself down the huge stuff now. So what you reckon? T8 or N9 ?
