I see so many (ignorant, but well-meaning) comments here telling you just to be happy or relaxed, but they are not correct. Worrying is normal, and hormones are quite the ride. Instead of always being (or forcing) happy or relaxed emotions, I think being gentle with yourself when having anxieties and big emotions is the best thing. Your experience is valid; don't feel guilt for ever checking in with your delivery team. Sending so much love, Rebecca. 🍓✨️🌷❤️🫶🏼

I love your comment. This is so true. All feelings are valid, even more when we are worried or anxious. Just talk to people, share experiences, and check everything. It’s better to check a few times. My mom had problems and they didn’t believe her, until she was bleeding, while she was heavily pregnant with my brother. They never made that mistake again, when she had me. 💖She changed the hospital. I hope everyone feels safe and valid with all their feelings. 💖

@rjz9785 .. I heartily agree with everything you said.. Dear Sissel, Pregnancy is absolutely an emotional rollercoaster, one minute euphoric, the next you could be crying (and you don't know why).. The 'ups and downs', the self doubting, the anxious feelings, the 'I'm on top of the world and I've got this, they all are there, sometimes overwhelming, and often changing like the weather.. Take each day as it comes, rest when you need to and trust your instincts. Sending my heartiest best wishes to you Sissel & Jake and baby boy, from a 'Silver-haired Grandmother. in Wales.

First time mum here, my daughter is now 13 months old. I have been dealing with postpartum anxiety and depression and I have found knitting has been a really big help. When I feel anxious knitting helps to calm and ground me. Also, it has given me something to focus in and distract me when I get worried. when I finish knitting something I feel a sense of accomplishment which I think during the transition to motherhood is always welcome as I have done something which wasn’t surrounding looking after my baby. Worrying is completely normal and ok! You are not alone and I know what you are going through. Take each day, hour, minute one step at a time! ❤

I’m a midwife. I think you should go to the clinic, simply to maintain peace of mind. It’s very important that you are as relaxed and happy as possible while you are growing a new human inside your body - you do what you need to do to stay serene and contented. What you describe seems very normal, but you need reassurance so let them check you tummy and the baby’s heart rate etc - you could even do a kick chart to take with you - you lie down and relax, put your hand on your belly, and every time baby moves in any way, you tick your piece of paper - you are basically counting how many times in one hour that baby moves - it gives the docs or midwives a good idea of baby’s activity level. You look beautiful and I’m sure everything is ok, but you will only relax when YOU know for sure that baby boy is growing and developing well. You are out of breath because your enlarged uterus restricts how much your lungs can expand (your diaphragm separates your chest from your abdomen and when you breathe it actually moves downward to expand your lungs - however your diaphragm will be struggling a tiny bit to move downward because of baby boy. Love you Sissel - be well 🙏❤️🌺

@@sisselabthat is really sensible advice. I remember feeling exactly the same way, I went to the clinic and they did all the checks - blood pressure, urine, weight, listened and a quick ultra sound, it was so reassuring to know everything was ok. They would rather you go in than sit and worry, they want a relaxed mum to be.

I think most first time mums feel this way; it's natural and going to clinic will ease your mind @sisselab Allowing you to have a more relaxed and healthy pregnancy. There is no normal; all this is new for you and terrifying for everyone the first time ❤

Very good advice. Also drinking/eating something sweet will make babies move more, in case someone's worried about less movement, they could also try to drink something sweet and then lay down to register movement for the kick chart.

Being worried, I think is a very normal and common for mums. I guess it's a very natural instinct and whilst it may be only the beginning, I hope you are able to live with the feeling well and that it's not too overwhelming. I hope you enjoy the last parts of your pregnancy and you can continue to be happy (with or without feeling anxious...) with Jake, baby boy who is going to be the most lucky boy in the world to have parents like you both, and a great family to grow up in, so caring and conscious about life. @@sisselab As for recommendation on how to kill boredom and anxious thoughts, how about you try to do things for yourself, whether it's about mental health, or physical health (maybe go to a spa, or get a massage?), maybe self-care is a good idea I reckon, so that you can centre things on yourself instead of you both? And yes, follow you instinct, go get a check-up, whatever people say about mums, it's okay to wonder, to be worried, do whatever you feel is right, that's the most important because that's what will make you feel better. I'll recommend highly that you call your mum too. My sister who was pregnant a few years ago felt so reassured by the numerous discussions with our mother, it's comforting for someone so close to you to hear your worries, and obviously they have been through the same experience of pregnancy. I bet it's going to help a lot too.

Something you need to know from a mother herself: always get the check up, you better overreact then not react at all and it's to late. I waited for the 3 days of heaving a feaver, because that was what I was told and I didn't want to overreact. It was really really close of being a very dangerous situation for my toddler. It all worked out, but since then I'm rather the overreacting mom then the childless mom....

The third trimester can be so hard. It was especially difficult with my first because I felt like everything was just coming so fast! I knew I was ready, but it can still be a scary thing to know you're about to go through a huge life shift! Looking back, I got really anxious and probably needed more support because my mind went to worst case often. And I think i just had a general feeling of uneasiness. Im sooo happy you were able to go in and get support from you're team ❤ Honor your fears and feelings, walk through them, lean on your team and it's ok to be both head over heels in love with the idea of the parenting journey AND also admitting it might scare the crap out of you (not necessarily saying this is your case, but it was for me and could be for someone reading this). I think I struggled with that a lot at the time, holding two opposing feelings and realizing they can both be true and both need space to process. We're pregnant with our last, our 3rd, right now! And yes its magical in so many ways! And its also a little scary sometimes, or overwhelming! That mother worry isnt constant, but yes, it pops up in certain moments. Im usually a silent follower, but your community on here loves you and wishes the absolute best for you 🩷 YOU CAN DO IT!!

I recently started and was taken aback at how fascinating it was to research what sorts of tools are required and which to choose to purchase (there are many shops selling matcha bowls that are several hundreds of years old for example!), which designs of those tools and why, then now making and drinking it at home and working on my technique. For example, by practicing each day I've learned about how the temperature of the water influences how much bitterness there is, and how whisking techniques (types of movement in the hand/wrist) are important for the types of bubbles or froth created too. I never knew that there was so much to it. It's also a relaxed and cosy activity for home so could be perfect 🤲

some activity ideas are going for walks, reading, drawing, painting, art sculptures, talking with friends/family, watching videos, playing games. i dont know if any of these are in your interest but i hope i helped. i wish you and the baby good luck and health!

It’s normal to feel out of breathe & will feel tired a lot, anxious about soon to give birth, to give you peace of mind is good to talk to your Doctor. Emotions will play a lot in your last trimester, as long as the doctor knows your baby is ok then it’s just fine. I had (3) children one miscarriage & my worse pregnancy is my 3rd, she was my biggest baby & on my 8th month I could barely move, can’t standup & sit down to long & won’t go out bc I felt very uncomfortable only to doctors appointment .. once the baby is out, all the troubles you felt just goes out the door when you see your newborn …

I’m not gonna say anything irresponsible advises related to anxieties as a mother, since I’m not a soon-to-be mother myself but what I would like to say is “we’ll watch over you, from your posts and videos” best of luck and BIG LOVE to you Sissel and your fam 🫶🏻🫶🏻❤️❤️

Peace of mind is totally important - worry is stress and stress CAN impact baby’s health and bring on early labour so go in, get that check, get that peace of mind, and go back to happy pregnancy vibes It’s so nice that you have access to care that you *can* do that as well. I’m in Canada and live in a city with a massive doctor shortage so you can’t really go in for a check and you definitely don’t get ultrasounds at the check up - you get your initial scan to detect the pregnancy and the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. Otherwise, you only get scans if there is something risky they need to keep an eye on. Super jealous :) The most shocking thing to me in your videos is that you’re not completely turned off the taste and smell of coffee! For me and my friends the smell of coffee was 🤢 lol Take care - almost there!

Dear Sissel, I’ve been watching your channel for over 5 years now. And even through we might not know each other, it still feels so special to have seen you grow and change so much while I’ve been growing up as well. Your channel has always been such a comfort space for me and I’m sure for a lot of other people as well💕I can’t wait to see you go through new chapters in life and I wish you all the best and love my dear!💚✨

Oh sissel, I never been pregnant but I’m sure that feel worried, stress and anxious is pretty normal so don’t feel guilty or bad and go get checked up as many times as you feel you need it, especially for your mental health. I’m so happy you have a good midwife that is comprehensive and Jake that is always with you when you need it. A hobby: crochet-knitting is so easy when when you get used to it, coloring books like bobbie goods, paint with oil pastels wherever you want or like. The time flies with any of those 😂 Hope you have a wonderful week, sissel ✨🤍

Always trust your instincts. I know it’s hard trying to decide if something seems serious, but it’s all serious if it’s causing you stress. Go to the doctor and have them look. It’s always better to soothe your mind. You’re doing great Sissel ❤

absolutely melt into the delicious free time! the only thing worse than having too much time to dawdle in the third trimester, is not having enough time to prepare before baby comes 😅 the s t r e s s ! you're doing the best for baby, chilling out 😊 ps, it is not a big deal AT ALL to go in and have a checkup whenever you need! and it's completely normal to be struggling with these huge new emotions - you've never been so intimately responsible for another human being's life before. you are doing incredible, be gentle with yourself 💚

I think you are someone who is good at listening to how you feel. It's important during pregnancy and you do the right things to listen to your little boy. Don't worry and take care of yourself like you already do. Lots of love.🤍🤍

Hi Sissel! I'm so happy for you that you are having this time for self care while awaiting the arriival of your baby boy! I honestly didn't think of it as a possibility with my first child so I worked the entire 9 months. Then I took off one week early to 'give myself some time to relax' and my son decided he was ready to meet his mama one week early! I wish someone had encouraged me to take that time for self care- especially seasoned mom's who truly knew how busy new mom's are. With that said- I hear and understand that you are feeling a bit restless and bored being at home which is understandable. One suggestion I have that I did and highly recommend is to write letters to your son! I basically just journaled in a thick looseleaf page book and talked about my days and thoughts and dreams for my child. I wrote anything that I wanted to in the moment, some things were serious and some were very lighthearted (like the list of future names my husband and I had come up with but never made the cut!" My now adult children have loved seeing these letters and journals that were written to them by their then 'young' mom who was preparing for their arrival. Because children only know you once they arrive as 'mom', the letters served as an introduction in their teens and young adulthood to who their 'mom' actually was as a person before they arrived. They really enjoyed learning about 'that mom' he he It makes for some very special bonding with your kids when they grow up. I'm praying for you and your son! xoxo

Hey, usually not a vocal subscriber but I wanted to react 🥰 Your emotional side is as important as your logical side cause what you feel is also a valid reality 💪 You're worried, that's okay ! You're feeling anxious, 100% okay ! So many changes, and the hormonal roller coaster is definitely a thing, but again a justified one ! I mean your body's creating a whole new life ! 🥰 So feel free to be scared, feel free to feel anxious, feel free to be out of breath or tired and be annoyed about it cause your feelings matters ! And most of all, do all that you need to feel safe and less anxious. As the saying goes "better be safe than sorry" so if you guts tells you to do something, do it ! 👌 Secondly, some ideas of activities : - everything culture related : museums, art gallery, theatre, ballet, movies, painting, drawing, listening to music, documantaries, pottery... usually, it's heat friendly and very calming. - soft sports (not without good supervision though) : walking in the forest, swimming, yoga, tai chi, meditation, etc. - learning new skills : finances, cooking, electricity, language, etc. it can be about basically anything that you're interested in and doesn't need a lot of moving for those days when you're not feeling too good. - Dates : with friends, with Jake or with yourself, you can find many ideas of simple dates that are changing and different in a funny way ! Anyway, you're doing so good ! Sending you all the love and support from France ! ❤ Melissa

I am so glad you were able to get reassurance. You know your body and baby, so anything that feels ‘different’, I would get advice. I had my first baby at 22 and last at 35. 2 different experiences. I found different trimesters brought different anxieties but lots of lovely surprises too. My youngest is 24 and you still worry lol. When I first saw you and Carrie I thought you were sisters as your so alike. You both have such beautiful personalities💐💐💐

Regarding being busy & filling your time with non work related things: are there any friends with kids that you could meet to hang out and help out with them? Maybe outside at a park or something like that? Also perhaps a new hobby like hand sewing simple outfits for baby boy? Or one that I really loved during pregnancy and postpartum: testing out new recipes and finding some new “staple” dishes that I could cook every week for our household (and freeze for when I wasn’t physically able postpartum). Also I pré-booked myself many appointments postpartum (such as body massage, acupuncture, getting nails cleaned & groomed (especially if they do massage because your arms and feet will get so sore from carrying baby all the time), and a facial too). I hope these help fill your time in a fun way!

All your emotions are totally normal! You’re doing great and even if you knew he was okay in there, you need to take care of yourself mentally. I also called a midwife once or twice (we had a 24/7 hotline we could call in DK) during my pregnancy because I was unsure on the activity. They were always so sweet and understanding and could give some advise on how to make the baby more active (it always worked). And what a big boy already 😍 good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

I know exactly how it feels like at the end..I also freaked out and felt scared when the baby started moving less at the end. Mother's intuition is always right so if you feel something is not right always see your doctor. Otherwise, try to relax, and keep an eye on changes ❤ overall, as long as you're not bleeding or feeling unusually sick everything should be all right
