I was there. I will never forget it. It was a tender, heartfelt, prayer that was sung. The audience felt every word and every note. A magical, spiritual moment where we were all one. I still get chills listening to it. Thank you Sissel...you are a treasure and when you sing like this, it's as if one of heaven's angels has come to earth for a moment. Thank you!!!

I am absolutely green with envy that you were there. And I have a feeling that the reason you could hear a pin drop in the theater while she was singing this lovely song was that everyone's eyes were filled with tears. What an amazing woman and singer she is. 💖💖

@@conradinhawaii7856 Copy that sir; nicely put! I totally agree! I watched most of the entire concert (all of Sissel's participation) on KZbin on my big flat screen TV in my Man Cave downstairs. Several times my eyes filled with tears; the first when she first appeared onstage and sang "Like An Angel Passing Through My Room" by ABBA, my All-Time #2 Band!!! Sissel was the angel passing through my room that night. What else can I say, other that I truly adore her, and that she is a Gift from God to mankind? I truly adore her. Her 2nd husband is the luckiest man alive, and I hope he cherishes her and makes her days and nights filled with joy and happiness.

@@michaeltriba1307 I have likewise watched all of her solos from that concert on a decent-sized flat screen and with better-than-decent sound, and agree with all that you wrote. I first heard her sing long before "Titanic", and have been following her career and music since the early-'90s. One of the loveliest and most perfect soprano voices of my lifetime. And what a wonderful person. Her beautiful heart comes through everytimenshe sings. And, yes, her "new" husband damned well better treat her right. Better than right, actually... or he may have a lot of unwelcome attention from many of us. But I think they'll be just fine. She didn't exactly jump into this, with her children to consider. 😊💖

@@conradinhawaii7856 Thank you! I first found the video when she sang with Russell Watson. I don't recall what year I found her, but it was sometime in this 21st century. About all I can add Conrad is that her voice and her smile melts my heart. I could watch and listen to her 24/7/365, but I must eat and sleep sometimes, and also pay some attention to my dear wife! 😉😏😁

I was impressed to share this with a friend who had recently lost both parents within a month of each other. She later conveyed how she just cried. Her father used to tell her those same words "Be still.". She felt her father's spirit reach out to help her to have peace and comfort.

It is truly impossible to describe how perfect and special this performance is! The true test is simply in the listening experience. With most songs, one will grow weary of hearing them after a time. No this performance and this song. It is carried on by its own power, which is never exhausting, never burdening, and leaving you feeling ever more empowered by the listening, like that first taste of clear water from a refreshing stream. Amazing!

I remember the performance. My mind had started drifting (I was probably being put to sleep I'm old now), yet when this song came on something inside me brought me back to alert and I "Heard" someone say "Listen". I did listen, and this number was Fantastic!! My wife was lucky enough to make it to both concerts, and we were able to get a CD Autographed by Sissel . I tell you this song was made for her, and she didn't even know it.

i will NEVER forget when i first saw this. I'm autistic as well as have struggled with chronic depression/ anxiety and suicide ideation. the last few weeks before this concert were pure torture for me and I was completely lost in what to do anymore. A few days before this song was performed, i asked a few friends of mine in the choir for some support which they gave and when i first heard this song, i was drowning in tears. Truly the light will always come at the end of the tunnel. thank you Tabernacle Choir, my dearest friends for being such heroes in my life and such wonderful friends! I love you all forever!❤️🧡💛💚💙❤️🧡💛💚💙

Heavenly Father speaks to us in so many ways. He spoke to many that night through her and that song. I have struggled with depression for much of my life, but I realized that it has been Satan's way of trying to stop me from fulfilling my personal mission and purposes in life. My best answers come through music and prayer. Never give up Will. You must have a great mission to perform, otherwise Satan wouldn't work so hard on you. Remember that and don't ever give up hope. ❤

I was among the 18,000 people who received this gift from Sissel. I have been going to music events for over 60 years but I've never heard a delayed but spontaneous standing-ovation for a musical offering that was basically very quiet and ended on a quiet note. It was total magic...for her (which she says in an interview also on KZbin) and certainly for 18,000 of her closest friends. Since she sang in Salt Lake City with the Tabernacle Choir for Christmas 2006 she has been loved. She has been the not-so-secret favorite guest artist of many members of the Choir for all that time. It was a wonderful set of circumstances which brought her back to us for the Pioneer Day Concert on July 20, 2019. Those who were fortunate enough to be there will never forget it...or her. (AND...every time I hear the two words "slow down" for the rest of my life her radiance will flash in my memory.)

These words, this orchestra and choir, THAT VOICE! Sissel, I was also in the audience the night you performed this beautiful song; it was like a weighted blanket for my soul, a heated towel for my heart. Since then I have replayed this video again and again, often before trying to sleep because it brings an indescribable calmness and tranquility. It is more than magical, though hearing it live was breathtaking, it resonated at a deep spiritual level for me then and it does so now. I am filled with appreciation for God, for music, for you, every time I hear it. Thank you for sharing your divine gift in such a poignant way, it has blessed my life immeasurably.

I was there in the conference center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for one night this summer. Sissel’s heart-felt reaction at the end is to the most immediate standing ovation I have ever witnessed. The clapping was deep and long for the perfect singer and the perfect orchestra and the perfect conductor. Joy was defined and felt so very deeply in my Norwegian and spiritual roots. Again...perfect! 22,000 blessed in a few short moments. I’d love to hear the Tabernacle Choir sing this sometime in the coming days.

This was not JUST a "performance". It was a ministration by God - with His Spirit working through a yielded vessel who was pleased to allow Him to use the tremendous, other-worldly gift and talent that she was given so that God might express His Love and Peace to a hurting, broken world !! Listen to her voice - perfect in tone, pitch and cadence - drawing you into that STILL, quite place. Look at her face - the embodiment of peace, calm, love and joy. See how she uses her body-language and the gestures of her hands to calm, soothe and direct. Throughout the song, but especially at the end with her hands folded over her heart in prayer - she is transcended into the song and into the presence of God, beckoning all who are there to come join her. God is beckoning to ALL who will hear, "Come, be still before me, find the peace that you yearn for, and KNOW that I am God!!" This "Spiritual Journey" was NOT lost on the orchestra, choir or the audience in attendance. They may not have known EXACTLY what it was that they had just experienced, but they DEFINITELY knew that it was something that transcended everyday experience. They reacted by the standing ovation that they honored Sissel with !!

Wow; I cannot stress enough how much I love all of this: Sissel's voice, how she looks, and the song itself. I have always been slower and more methodical than most others. That bucks against the corporate world of greed and productivity. The Moody Blues once sang about the "slow lane" of life, and that is where I want to be. This is truly Sissel's pulpit, and you could tell she meant every word with her dear heart and soul. I had never heard this song before. Is it a Mormon (Latter Day Saint) song? Right after the entire concert was posted on KZbin (thank you), most of the public's comments were about this beautiful and moving song. Thanks again!

I am the one that says KellyOCG (my employer) and pictured with my wife with a border of roses! 🌹🌹🌹 I have a lot of friends with cool connections to musician and vocalists (mostly indie artists), but your experience with dear Lady Sissel trumps every experience I have ever heard!!! 😁🙏 Also, I have 2 awesome musicians for you to look up. One 20 year-old young lady named Sina (she goes by Sina-Drums) is the best drummer I have ever heard! Aaaand, she is from Germany! The other is a 35 year-old married woman from Moscow named Alyona Yarushina. She is one of the best dramatic sopranos I have ever heard. I am a Patreon patron of hers, and she is also an indie artist. She is world-class, but relatively unknown since she has no record label. Up to now she just sings covers, but is working on an album of original songs. She needs a good band to help heard record it. But alas, things are extra difficult living in Russia. I am so looking forward to your photo with dear Sissel!!! 💖 I'm so glad, I "ran into" you hear, dear Wolly! 😊

Beautiful piece of music that takes you to a haven of peace, and you give it a heavenly, wonderful touch. I downloaded the full 2019 Pioneer Day Music for a Summer Evening concert, and believe me I have heard it a few times.

hello Sissel. You are still the best ... we created a fan club here in our city (Belo Horizonte)... every weekend we review the videos of your performances ... always fantastic. Here in Brazil is very difficult to get your recordings, so we appeal to KZbin. Your example is one of our best inspirations. May God continue to light your way and your family.

just simply beautiful regardless of what one believes. known of you this entire century but this was the FIRST time you almost "lost it", Sissel. yeah that standing ovation at the end there. And deservedly so. I don't typically compare but you most assuredly have heard of Judith Durham. Well I saw her many years ago and she just blew me away at the time. A strikingly similar persona in my opinion that made her who she always was. she didn't smile quite as much as you though! THANK YOU!
