This song is perhaps one of the "Brighter Stars in Sissel's Musical Heaven" ! Yet - it is probably one of her least known and perhaps least appreciated performances - namely because it is such a radical departure from her "standard style and persona" -- IF there is really any such thing for Sissel !! Here, she plunges to the depths and soars to the heights of her artistic, emotional and spiritual powers to bring forth this child birthed from deep and expressive anger, desperation, frustration, hope, hurt, joy, and pain !! It is a tribute not only to her impressive talent and versatility, but to the genuineness of the Love resident in her spirit and soul. I say this because I believe that the Heart expressed in this song REALLY is Sissel's heart toward ALL of humanity - it is how she truly feels toward mankind. It is also VERY impressive - especially for a woman of 50 - to literally shine with a radiant glow of beauty, love, purity and youth in the face of the probing close-ups that she was subjected to by the camera in this video. She appears to have a bare minimum of makeup, and what she does have was most definitely applied by a skilled professional to give the appearance that what we are seeing is Sissel's NATURAL, unaugmented Beauty. I do not wish to leave without also giving ALL due credit to the masterful photography that went into this production in order to capture the VERY essence of Sissel's emotion and expression throughout.

I believe Sissel stepped way out of her comfort zone to sing this and what a masterful presentation. How many artists at 50, would allow extreme closeups with minimal makeup. She is truly, a once in a lifetime artist and my greatest regret, I'll never be able to shake her had and kiss her cheek and say thanks for the many hours of peace and beauty she has brought into my life, since I have been alone.

Having just discovered Sissel this year, I continue to be amazed at how much love I feel for her music and how much I actually love Sissel, the performer AND the person. These feelings I am experiencing are akin the the feelings of falling in love many years ago.

A classic contralto. Using Sissel's talent well, right up there with "Ingen Vinner Frem", "Lær Meg å Kjenne" and "Velkommen Hjem". Put the four of them together and see which three y'all want to listen to again and again. It's easy. Songs are like jokes. Some work and some don't. When one does not, move on to the next one. Fortunately, in a world where 3 out of 10 passes muster, Sissel's batting average is 7 out of 10. If she were a comedienne, she would be the funniest person on the planet.
