BeachyBlondeWaves you're wrong. 3.5% of adult Americans are gay, lesbian or bisexual, this excludes all of the closeted ones. But 7% of millennials are LGBT so that number is going to get to 10% probably within the next 20 years. And it's not even because more gay people are suddenly appearing, being LGBT is becoming more and more accepting so people feel more comfortable coming out rn as opposed to 1885 where you would be completely shunned and beaten up

Remember Kodi divorced her so he could marry Robin, also. Maybe this kid sees being gay as a way to get out of the male-dominated thing.

If you’re a serial monogamist then you don’t understand polyamory let alone polygamy. Do not forget she wanted to live this lifestyle! Just like every relationship there are rules and boundaries. She went behind her husband’s back and emotionally cheated on him. It doesn’t matter how many wives he has. She agreed to a closed off relationship and family with her husband and sister wives.
@porcelainpinup43026 жыл бұрын
watchgoose which part of the Bible? The part where Abraham, David, Solomon, Moses, and Jacob had multiple wives? That’s just a handful of polygamists in the Bible. The part in Deuteronomy where it says to stone your daughter for having premarital sex? The Old Testament is still part of the Bible. If you believe in the 10 commandments and Adam and Eve then you’re following the Old Testament. The Bible isn’t al a carte.

So many "religious" people have forgotten that or just don't care (because they know it's wrong) but, when they pass away and they're being judged by Him, He's gonna want to know why they were doing His job. But hey, that's they're relationship with God. I stay in my lane.
@elainemarie94707 жыл бұрын
Michelle, so true. I'm a raised Christian and born-again. God is the one who told me He made me gay. I was freaked out and pretty surprised, since my church & religion heavily preached against homosexually and demonized it. God has also told me the same thing: only He judges, not us. God showed me how my being a lesbian was a gift from Him. TBH, I didn't believe Him. But once I processed the false programming, including the internalized hatred all marginalized people get, I really got to see His Prophecy in action. Having the personal relationship & spiritual visions of God and Jesus helped me immensely in accepting my in-born lesbianism. I could never understand why it was called a choice, since I would've never ever, in a million years, choose such a thing. I did years of trying to "pray the gay away." On very rare occasions, I've seen some people being successful in having heterosexual marriages, but then, sexual orientation & gender identification are on a continuum. It was a difficult path, especially with some of my family being fundamentalist (I was one, too; forgive me, Father, for my own sins of self-righteousness my elders taught me). However, they were totally accepting because they love me. Bless them. Love is not supposed to be conditional, folks. In hindsight, my personal growth from being different caused me an immense expansion in my ability to love, release the disease of judgmentalism, be far more compassionate, and open my eyes to Truth. God has blessed me beyond compare. GBU & TYJCY.

Elaine Marie congratulations!!! Don't worry about the negativity of others. They don't understand the lifestyle. I am 100% straight but I fully support gay rights. You have to what is right for you. We each have our own relationship with God and no one else can say anything different. Let them say what they must. You are living for you. The world is full of too many people who quote the Bible and what they believe, but it doesn't have to be what you believe. Continue being you!! 🌈😃

My heart really goes out to Mary, she seems so lonely, sad and lost. Kody hesitated on the seperation/divorce question! I'm not here to judge anyone's life style... but how attentive can 1 person be to 4 wives and 18 children??? When you are spreading yourself that thin certain people are going to suffer... meri and janelle have both said they feel isolated and that they don't get enough attention... and what a coincidence they are his 1st and 2nd wives! It's crazy how much your life changes when you go to college and outside the bubble of your family. Especially if you are sheltered. I remember before Mariah went to college, she was one of the most religious of the kids and says she wanted to be in a poly relationship.
@Ksklarge17 жыл бұрын
GurlProblemz my brother did the same thing. that kid slept with a bible at night. he was trying to run so far from who he was. at 18 he started college and it was only a few months in when he came out. it really wasn't a shock. all his friends were girls, he never brought home a girlfriend, he was obsessed with fashion and having the latest styles, and was flamboyant. now he is 25, serving our country in the air force and happily married to a nice guy.
@readingswithjenna97146 жыл бұрын
GurlProblemz Yup. That's what happens when strict parents keep their thumb over their kids abd keep them under constant brainwashing. Eventually, the kids see what the real world is like. There's a reason the duggers are never encouraged to go to college.

She use to say she wanted to be a sister wife so bad! I wonder if she still believes in her faith at all. I know many gay Mormons who do. I’m happy for her and I hope she has an amazing life. She seems lighter and brighter. She is beautiful.

I think that the mom and the dad especially the mom don't really want to admit that they don't agree with their daughter. Primarily because they're on tv. The other mothers couldn't give a shit because they're not related.
@KarilynM5 жыл бұрын
Mel River it depends on the mother. Janelle really is supportive in that way since if she wanted, she would just leave

As a mormon (LDS) this pisses me off. @ 1:36 when Cody calls himself "mormon," that's truly wrong. He's FLDS, and oftentimes actual mormons get confused with this cult. It is, without a doubt, a cult. As an actual mormon I'm disgusted at her biological mom's and Cody's behavior. I believe people are born gay. For them to say that they "never saw it coming," just shows that a) clearly they haven't paid enough attention to her, probably because cumulatively they have 18 kids. It's really not hard to tell if someone is gay or not, generally speaking. It really pisses me off and pissed me off when her biological mom said "now I have to mourn the loss of the life we thought she would have." I don't like swearing but bitch you shouldn't mourn anything, celebrate that your daughter was brave enough to come out to you probably knowing your reaction. I was really happy though when that one sister wife (the blonde one, sorry I don't know her name,) said right after "whew I thought you were gonna tell us you had cancer!" Even though it wasn't her biological daughter, she behaved maturely and got up and hugged her. Good on her. Sorry for the rant, I'm just very passionate about this.

Allison Linner They aren't FLDS, they're AUB. There are dozens and dozens of Mormon polygamist groups and yes, most of them consider themselves to be Mormon. Historically speaking, the LDS church has been the one to shy away and drop the name. It wasn't until recent years that mainstream Mormons started using the name again, so you can't really be pissed off. This is coming from a Mormon who grew up a few blocks away from BYU. 😉

Allison Linner And he straight up says "fundamentalist Mormon" that's what the LDS church calls them, too. They ARE fundamentalist Mormons and I think you might be surprised at how similar they are to our church in theology and culture.

All Mormons are in a cult no matter what anyone says lol it's fact
@cgravy12486 жыл бұрын
Mormonism is a cult. PERIOD. It is a fantasy based on "religion" and it is not ok. And yes, I was born and raised in the thick of it in the middle of it all in Utah. Joseph Smith lied and you are a fool for still believing his lies.
@patriciaorsborn71657 жыл бұрын
I'm honestly amazed at how accepting the parents are. I don't know why, I just am. I suppose that I'm not thinking rationally, since the parents preach acceptance for their lifestyle so I should not really be surprised. Oh well, it's something that changes how I felt about this family and if the hugs and kindness and acceptance they're showing the daughter is true and not just for the camera, then wow, awesome, they're not as bad as I imagined.

I love how her own mother is just sitting there while the other mother Robyn got up and hugged her. But I do like what Cody said.. he's right it's not his right to judge. That's his daughter, it's her life and she has to live it. She's doing the right thing and living the way that she wants to. 💙

My mother is very religious and we could not be further apart on prominent social issues. Still, not one day has gone by where I have doubted her love.
