I get my retie every 6 wks and love when my roots get thick just before my Retie date. I don’t like Retie until after 2 wks because my locs are stiff with scalpiness. @@miaa.4227 It's okay, he keeps in touch. It took about a month or 2 before my scalp detoxed from all of the products I was using. Get you some witch hazel & keep your scalp clean & dry. Also speak with your loctician about what to do to help it

Glad to hear it was on good terms… but she suggested the same-that and aloe vera gel directly to the scalp help keep it under control… I don’t tend to have any issues until I start putting my hands in my hair. And my hands are ALWAYS in my hair with these Sisterlocks! I just keep it pinned up/back as often as possible.

Because of you, all of my skepticism went away about getting my micro locs! I can’t believe how similar our hair is! I am going on 9 months and have been in love from day one! @@chic619 I tried to take them out and it was taken me too long to get 1 out. I just grabbed mt scissors and chopped them out. Right now I have about 3.5 inches and I'll go around 4 inches. I can't wait. The reason I cut them bc i thought they were bigger than SL should have been and I only had 219 SL. Also the loctician who installed them was not consistent with my journey. My new loctician is amazing and she never encouraged me to cut, she new how unhappy I was and bc I complained every time and said "if it means you'll be happy by starting over, then you should follow your heart." That's what I did. I'm READY to get it done. Thanks for your reply.

I have low density fine hair and really struggle with my crown still after almost 3yrs. Still no swelling. How often do you retie?

The swelling occurs when the hairs that would typically fall out get caught & locked in. You will get some swelling, especially in the summer. I get reties every 4 weeks. You probably can't see your swelling right away, just make sure you are taking pics often so you can go back & see your growth & drink lots of water.
