I didn’t have sister locs, but microlocs & I took them out a few months ago. I didn’t have the patience for the same situation you were going through, plus my seborrheic dermatitis was taking over. Back to loose natural. Lol. Good luck!

I feel my hair is starting to look weaker too and I have thin hair already. I also figured it was due to my diet. I'm going to start taking collagen again to strengthen it. You did an awesome job!

Your hair looks great, so-so much better than mine. I had sisterlocks but my locks kept thinning really badly, so I combed out what I could and started smaller traditional locks.

I'm glad you vlog this method again, that's a great option for struggling locs around the edges. I have several of them and I really need to do something but didn't know if I could do that method. You make it look so easy.

My locks are much stronger and longer. My loc length is at the end of my bra strap. My sisterlocks would break of because my hair is fine. I am using the mango Castro oil and the wild growth oil. I am so happy I made the transition to the traditional locks. Sisterlocks are beautiful but just did not work for me.

I'm over it in a different way...I'm combining mine. I'll miss Kady, but I have to be able to maintain them myself, and I am not about to maintain 400+ locs. More power to those that do. Also, I'd much rather make the cost grow for me and/or pay down debt. Anyway, I braided 4 together at first but didn't like it so I took them out. I came across another KZbinr who combined her SLs via 2 strand twists, and that's what I'm doing now. I like the look of twists better than the braids. Oh well...

I've had my sisterlocks for 2 years now and they are starting to thin in certain spots and actually fall out 😕 I've changed my diet and added a DHT blocker vitamin. What collagen product do you use?

Oh no! I hope things get back on track! I take a GNC women’s multi vitamin with biotin. Last month I noticed a change in my locs and tied it to my diet. It now looks like the vitamin remedied it.

I would be so afraid to do what you are doing. Wouldn't the extension prove to be too heavy for the already THIN hair coming out our your head? Wouldn't it tear your few strands your loc is holding on to?

20+ year r Certified Sisterlocks Consultant: you guys never learn! Adding extensions impedes the locking process. Let your baby edge locs go through the normal locking process. Extending the loc only adds weight on already weak edge baby locs. But you do you 🤷🏽‍♀️

xaixaia I have a few I’ve added a little hair to and thankfully they’re progressing just fine. Thanks for the warning though! I’m sure adding a foot long loc extension would do more harm than good.
