Sisterlocks | Loc Tour

Hello guys!!!!! Today, I wanted to share a loc tour of my Sisterlocks. It was important to me to take some footage of my hair in the state that it is right now, before I went back to my regular loctician. By the Grace of God, my hair seems to be doing really well. I know there are a couple of locs that are going through a tough time, but for the most part and overall, my hair is doing well.

I love seeing your notifications pop up! 😀 I think it's like a 'hazard' of microlocks and Sisterlocks that once it grows past jaw length people just stop styling it and default to the messy bun or half-up/half-down. It never fails😆 And that's okay, because we either spent a lot of money, or a lot of time, to have that convenience.

Your locs are thriving and look beautiful overall. Your locs at the periphery are super thin though. It's a bit concerning because your hair is so fine at the back. It helps sometimes to combine the locs at the very periphery to give them a stronger base, especially since they are the locs that are on the outside and have to withstand so much more than the locs in the center. But I love how they're looking all the same.

I know this loc tour is 9 months old based on what is displayed at the bottom of the video, but why is your loctian not combining those really thin locs in the back? Is it a matter of not “messing” up the grid? My face just goes 😬…I lost some locs due to thinning over time with the ones with small base. I didnt care about my grid after my 2nd year. Maybe because my hair was getting longer and it was just a matter of getting my reties done on time. I mostly did the half up half down style and the all up messy bun. I combined some locks as i became more comfortable doing my own reties and my grid wasn’t terrible but not as pristine as establishment. PS I had about 480 locks

She told me they are like that because my hair is so fine in the back. She's not worried about them. She said they are solid. I'm just going with the flow. If the need to combine comes I'll do it but for now I'm fine.

Budding is when the locs is tangling inside itself to loc for real. Sometimes you can see a little lump forming on the loc.
