greatness. so pretty. you deserve to be feeling yourself, chile... ;) and i'm loving the natural makeup look you've been doing -- it's perfect! as for color, i wouldn't, unless your hair is VERY STRONG. even then, you're setting yourself up for a lifetime of extra effort in the moisturizing department. i'm 4c too, and if i could go back, i would never have colored/bleached my hair. it's just not worth it, and there are so many fun and temporary options that can satisfy that itch.

Love seeing your monthly journey and that hang time is life😃. I'm at 27 months, 4c, high P, hair. It has been an experience watching it go through the various stages. Btw, I cut my extra long pieces even with the group. I've actually cut back 2-3 times. Well I discovered they just keep on out pacing the other locs🤷🏽‍♀️go figure.

Criso Wells That is a GREAT QUESTION hahaha! For a while I too wondered why I haven’t seen high ponytails or things like that. Me personally, I like to let them hang and flow. I do put them in a high pony when I work out. Ultimately, I think people like to show off the length

You should try purple or blue highlights with the hair paint wax and do a video. I think bc you can wash it out easily , you can get an idea if you like the color as a “permanent “ color.

My length is at my nape though because my hair's layered, which I love cuz it adds volume...especially with a braidout...OMG.

Hey Lavenia! Quick question. Do you now only DYI your retightenings ? And also have you gotten quicker at doing it since you've started. I'm about 16mo in and am thinking of becoming independent it usually only takes my consultant 1.5-2hr but I know I'd be much slower so the task is kind of daunting to begin.

The Heart of a Homemaker ! Try twisting those locks with the one right next to it. It’ll help reinforce it during the time in between your retightenings. That is what helped my baby locs!
