I'm going on 2 years loc'd in May and have been retightening my own hair since 9 months. Watching your videos gave me the confidence I needed to take it own myself. At the time I was not having a good experience with my consultant (lost several locs) and I have never been the type of person to constantly go to the salon. I don't like being tied to someone's chair. You are definitely my go to for loc tips. I also love and follow your butterfly channel!

I’m excited and nervous to do my first retie. I spoke with my consultant last night and she is encouraging all her clients to learn to do it because we never know what could happen in the near future. I used to crochet my hair a few years ago and that damn needle would always get caught in my hair....lol...so that thing is a no go for me. I’m going to order the nappy loc tool and get the one from walmart as well. As soon as things are normal again I’m going back to my consultant but I do think it’s good to at least know how to do my hair period. Love your videos and content.

I don’t know my loc pattern and my grid is off, so I’m just going to try and retie my own sisterlocks. My head is a mess 😫😫😅 and I can’t wait another month. My grid is not important to me. Love you hair by the way

Thank you for the encouragement! I did three up front and I am satisfied with them but I am so overwhelmed with the amount, how I’m going to do the back of my head...getting enough lighting and the right mirror angle. 😫 I am doing too much thinking and thinking myself out of doing it. I love your “Ain’t nobody got time for that” attitude, I am the same. 🤗

You are making me think about doing an online f2f using Zoom.where we all go on and see and provide support for each other as we retighten and chat. It can be helpful for tips from other sisters and support too. Just knowing others are tackling theres right along with you. What do you think?

Tunisia Ali that’s a great idea but I’ve decided I’m only doing the front lol and I’ll be done with that today. The front is where the really thin ones are and I’m scared they won’t hang in there. I think that some of the ladies would love that though! 💖

Thanks for the vid. I just finished retightening my whole head. I section my hair in 9 sections and do a section a day. Otherwise, I get impatient and frustrated. And I'm pretty sure I over tightened a few spots so thanks for the reminder. 😊 How do you sleep/position your hair when using rollers? I always end up waking up and taking them out as it's so uncomfortable even the twist a locs. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I just finished my first retigh yesterday! I’ve had sister locks for 11 years. It was tough but glad to be done. Not combining locs is the biggest challenge:/
