I’m glad you enjoyed it! I learn something new on every trip! But to be honest and to clarify, the reason they picked the spot was because it was outside of San Francisco and keep in mind that California hadn’t been a state very long when this happened.

Don’t know if things are more civil since you can destroy a person’s family, career, and future by using cancel culture and lawfare. Mainstream media and social media are the new weapons of choice and can be just as deadly in my opinion. Especially in politics. Thanks for the video Jeff.

Uff da Jeff, you always bring us amazing stories. And your opinions always seem to mirror my own.---Development around historical sites often holds no sentimentality towards those sites...old is just old. In my town, the ruins of the first mission, destroyed by a massive earthquake and forcing the priests to relocate farther out of town, have slowiy been incorporated into the towns development. Not much left to see, but with markers letting visitors know what to look for. Imagine, one house incorporated their back fence in a ruined wall of the mission. It's now covered in ivy.
