This individual explains the constructions so well that I can literally build them in Grasshopper 3D exactly the way he is doing them. The process he uses is SUPER clean and exact. It's a classical class of geometry. Beautiful.

Great tutorial! Some of my measurements were out so I will need to practice a lot more. I am very happy with what I produced for a first try. Thank you for showing the traditional method.

When you are done do you just flip the tracing paper and trace out the other 3 sides to make a completed pattern?

one could make a key out of card stuck from the vellum in order to create your own stuff. superimposing shapes reveals solutions, especially in 5fold. similarly, punch holes in vellum, use chalk dust to mark grid on stone or wood or plastic or lalalalalalalalala
so glad to see this! thank you Muhammed. The more we hear from you the more we can understand. When does the book come?

Thank you very much my friend, the book is a big project, I don’t want it to be like other books that present confusing and unpractical methods, so I have to revise it very carefully before commenting it to publisher. Thank you again.

Mashallah. I am so delighted to see another magnificent video of yours. I tried few times to combine sixfold and fourfold patterns but I've always failed. I really can't wait for your encyclopedia mister Muhammad. Thank you so much. I would like to ask a question : Are all the patterns constructed in a square or rectangle? Or some may be constructed in hexagon, triangle or other shapes. I sometimes try to figure out on my own how to construct different patterns but the method you are presenting is not very obvious for me. Is there a kind of rule that says how to construct all the patterns?
@BawabatAlkhatAlarabi7 жыл бұрын
Yes Emilia, all patterns must be drawn in either a square or a rectangle. You see the main key in this methodology is the relation between the diagonal and the side of the square or the rectangle. From this relation you can extract all the information needed to draw the patterns. You see in this video how I extracted the perimeters of the two rosettes. If you use hexagon or triangle you will not be able to get the correct information and you end up with different size petals. Some authors construct this very same pattern using tiling or polygon method. But they always fail to specify the correct information and as they say “just eyeball it or estimate it or use near point” in other words they use ambiguous words to cover the failure of their methods. there is no eyeballing or estimation in geometry.

Thank you very much for your comment; I am sorry I did not understand exactly your question. did you mean you cannot draw the full pattern.

Actions seem meaningless and random, though I know they are not. I just wish you would explain how the angles and measurements were made. I would like to learn what is happening, not just how to follow a series of instructions.
