After six month of owning my Winnebago Travato 59GL I have come to love some things and hate others. Here's my wrap up of the good and the bad of "Lucille" the Van.
My channel is all about my journey from wannabe to solo female full-timer in a Class B RV.

How about a bead of silicone on the corners and middle edges of the screen to hold them in place?

Not sure you'd be able to raise and lower them if you did that. Maybe I don't understand your meaning?

Hi... I enjoy your videos. I want to buy RV soon, prefer before the end of this year, but looks like not possible. Anyway, I've narrowed down to 2 RVS I like, Travato and Coachmen Beyond. I am leaning toward Coachmen because I like Ford Transit. I hope Coachmen RV did the insulation well. Your thoughts on Coachmen if you've seen one. Thanks!

I've seen a couple of Coachmen but I don't know a lot about them. I do know that Winnebago has increased the insulation since my model year. Seems like a common issue with RVs. Congrats on your decision to buy a rig. I understand that they are in short supply at the moment but hopefully supply and demand will even out a bit in the new year.

Get Passport America membership is $44.00 a year and saves you 50 percent on many RV parks across the nation and a lot of those are in sunny Florida! I may be wrong about your handle but I believe it may just screw back into the gateway to the black tank.🤠🙏✝️

I have PPA. Don't use it much due to all of the restrictions. Probably won't renew. Wasn't a problem with the handle, entire valve came apart and had to be disassembled and put back together. Thanks for watching!

@@herdfan697278 Passport America, PA I guess. Too many parks that I have tried blackout the entire summer or require you to stay multiple nights but only discount one. I've also seen some parks that I wouldn't stay in if you paid me. But glad it works for you. If I stayed in campgrounds more then maybe it would be more useful for me.

Thank you for the info on the parasitic draw of the inverter, good to know. Nice video. The other thing is I thought that couch/seat in front of the door was a water tank. You said the inverter was in there. So where is the water tank? The reason I ask is that mine are located under my Class B RV in two 10 gallon plastic tanks and I hate it. I always worry that it will fall out someday driving seeing how it is secured to the bottom of the van with just a little metal bar.

In the GL the inverter is in the "jump seat." In the non-lithium G its the water tank. My water tank is underneath sort of mid-coach. Not ideal in my opinion but real estate is tight in these rigs. I don't think the tank is going to fall off but it leaves it exposed to cold temps even with the tank heater. Just something to consider.

@@thegingerwalkabout1550 Thank you, good to know. I just assumed that the water tank would be in the same spot, the "jump seat" which I liked for several various reasons. Inverters are not that big, wonder why they would put it there? Anyway I do not like where they put the lithium batteries either, but my next RV is definitely going to be all electric (except for heat).

Interesting here you talk about people with towables as we started with a 34foot class A, then a 40foot diesel and just bought a 2019 19.6foot zion srt. So we had the towable and found it hard to explore in. Now we drive the van everyday like a car, but have a bathroom and a fridge. Looking forward to testing it on long trips, once we can travel again.

It’s just crazy how long it takes for them to get a pot and to fix it so if you were on the road you’re really in a jam thanks for sharing all this information because someday I do hope to own a class B and although I’ve lean towards the Travato I’m not 100% sure as I won’t be able to do a Tonna traveling I’m looking into other options but I do Love hearing your stories and watching you from the beginning

Travato comes with window covers but I replaced them with Vanmade shades. Much better insulation and blackout. They aren't cheap and take about 6 weeks to get but worth it in my opinion.

Towables are too long, at least for me, not as easy to commute and longer set up/take down time. I am going to purchase a flex hose tomorrow for the rv, hoping to be easier to store. We will see. Have you watched the FitRV? They organized the back nicely for the hoses, electric cords, etc. Thanks for the great video! You are great.

A towable would definitely be a much different style of RVing, that's for sure. If I ever did it I'd be staying in one place (at a camground) for longer periods of time. For now I love the mobility of the Travato. Yes, I love FitRV. The rear wall storage may have been an area that Winnebago should have left alone. The storage closet they put in is much smaller and a lot less useful than the ones people put in themselves pre-2019. Just my opinion. I may try to get the hoses in there, just have to figure out what to do about the dirt and water they bring with them.
