Kristen, I wanted an Instant Pot for a long time. I received one from a friend of mine!! Yay!! Now, because of you and your KZbin Channel, I have a ton of recipes and I REALLY love my Instant Pot. It has helped out so many times with cooking supper for my husband and me during the week. We both work and I go to school so this is a HUUGE help. It also has come in handy with Sunday Dinner. Thank you, Kristen and Six Sisters Stuff

My dad didn't like turkey so we grew up eating ham for Thanksgiving. Since it's just my hubby and I (he gets turkey when we go see his fam) we buy a ham that will fit in the pot. It works so well in there. As soon as it's done I take that pot out and put pot #2 in to do potatoes while the ham is resting. It's amazing how quickly we make our holiday meal. It's funny bc my husband gets a free turkey at work every year so we just donate it. I never tried turkey til I got married but it's just not my thing. Considering a small ham leaves a lot of leftovers for us I am glad we give away that turkey. Give it to a family who needs it. But if it weren't for your channel I wouldn't know how to even do mashed potatoes in there! You've really been such a big help. I've had my pot for a year now and I don't know how I managed without it. Have a wonderful holiday!

Thanks for your recipes and tips! To make it easier to get that pot of dressing into and out of the Instant Pot, try making a sling out of aluminum foil. Place it under the smaller pot and hold the ends to lower it in. Fold the ends of the sling out of the way during pressure cooking, then use the ends to lift the smaller pot out of the IP liner pot after cooking. Hope that makes sense.

@pandarush.5 жыл бұрын
Hi, wondering if you found out about tin foil if you dont have a pan for the stuffing?
@mbb78525 жыл бұрын
Panda Rush Yes you can cook anything inside of pressure cooker using foil to enclose the ingredients. Sometimes I use this method to separate certain ingredients my kids don’t like. I’ve seen many recipes for IP “hobo” foil pouches typically grilled. (Parchment paper also safe for IP use btw) Fold foil edges over & crimp as you go in small segments overlapping until sealed. . Use heavy duty or double layered foils. Try to shape pouch both for recipe & size that fits into inner cooking pot on trivet without touching pots inside edge (airflow allows pressure to build) or at least not blocking entire circumference inside inner pot edges. Hope that helps! Been learning through trial & error plus reading & videos online for me.

The peel of the russet potatoes are where more than 95% of the vitamins are in those potatoes!! (Including Vitamin C!!!). An antioxidant VERY important for optimal good health! Any chance You have a recipe for Plank Fries or Ranch Fries, or whatever the correct name is for them? I couldn't decide which model to purchase and so I bought what was the best priced. It turned out to be the LUX like yours, but it's 8 qt. 1) How long have you had yours? If you've worked with yours for a while, and was able to make all these delicious meals, then I am more confident that I won't need the DUO. 2)when would a recipe require the use of LOW pressure (from the DUO model)? maybe beans ? meat (maybe in soups or not) with BONES still in ? Bone broth ? Cheesecake ? custard (pie) ? Plus I know I won't be making any yogurt so I am ok without that feature. Thanks :) I plan to make my next Thanksgiving meal this way.

Potatoes do not absorb salt after they are cooked and will not taste right. Cook then in salted water, about as salty as the sea for flavorful potatoes
@TheMinot606 жыл бұрын
Vanessa Fritsch potatoes absolutely absorb salt after they are cooked, although perhaps not at the same rate or way. Prior to cooking and mashing, the potato has a cellular structure with a high water content, sodium loves to cross membranes to make the inside of cells
@TheMinot606 жыл бұрын
Vanessa Fritsch as salty as the outside through osmosis process. When cooked, lots of cells are burst so the salt isn’t going to be as wonderfully distributed, but there will still be some going on. Not so great for a meal where you may have people watching their salt content. The best way to control intake is to add, or don’t add at the end.
