@@johncoops6897 this is not true at all I work for a oil change place, some cars require the gasket to be replaced every oil change this is mainly Hyundai and Kias sometimes Hondas, most chevys, fords and dodges don’t have to be replaced everytime a lot of them have a metal plug with rubber gasket, some fords have a plastic plug which sucks ass, the thing we mainly go off of tho is if it has a metal gasket it probably needs to be replaced so we usually replace metal gaskets anyways even if it’s not bad just so it won’t come back on us

On most engines, when you remove the oil filter, which is situated not completely vertical, like here sideways or sometimes even upside down, you get a good splash of oil down to the sump, because you let the air in the lubrication system. Thats why you should firstly unscrew or change the filter and only then, after some time, plug the sump back. You can change more oil this way.

If you dont/ cant pre fill your filter, you should start it for about 10 seconds AFTER your initial fill, then double check the level and top it up.

If you replaced the filter, you'll also need to check the oil level after the next ignition, since the oil will fill the filter.

Drain plug is not always in line with the oil cap, also you want the filter hand TIGHT not hand snug, and your ideal oil level will always be the max line. Not a little below or a little above

If you put the jack under the oil pan, you can drain the oil and lift the car at the same time.

If you don’t fill your oil filter before putting it on add a little more oil to the car so it fills up after you start it.
