There was a sixth teenager caught up in the Central Park Five case, and Monday he was back in court to finally get justice.
Steven Lopez was exonerated in response to requests by both Lopez’s attorney and prosecutors. He was arrested along with five other Black and Latino teenagers in the rape and assault on Trisha Meili but reached a deal with prosecutors to plead guilty to the lesser charge of robbing a male jogger.

Not to mention, they weren't charged with hitting a guy with a pipe. They were charged with the rape and assault of Patricia Meili, which they DIDN'T do! They are innocent. And what is "merely" vacated? Their charges were vacated. That's it. That means their names were cleared from the conviction and the case was voided. Their records are cleared of that crime. They were compensated for the time they spent wrongfully imprisoned, they no longer have to register as sex offenders, and they can get jobs without that coming back on them. It's scratched.

@@elizabethsullivan3838 Sure I know how faulty eye witnesses can be, but there were several different IDs saying the same, makes it more credible, plus there was other evidence and then the 5 were outing themselves and each other and it's all on video for all to see. One of the 5 said, I didn't rape her, I only fondled her. What a nice upstanding youth, only beat the crap out of her to fondle her. And they are guilty. And yes one of the charges was giving the guy a concussion. I already said what vacated was, they can bring them up on charges again, they are not cleared. The only reason the justice system is doing this stupid crap is to piss people off, but hey, that's why we carry because we know there really is no justice from our courts anymore. If someone there would have been carrying, that would have been justice.
