I use a ClonerBox Pro (and sometimes Evolve) for all my capture on my channel - I didn't even know they made devices like that with a built-in screen. I like how it takes both SD and USB drives; my other devices are just one or the other. Looks like it's already out of stock on Amazon. Thanks for the review!

I've used the ClonerAlliance UHD Pro. It's stand-alone but without the screen. I have not used the Evolve. I need to try out the thumb drive option in Part 2, so thanks for your comment reminder about this feature. Looking forwar dto part two. I had bought the other 1080p monitor/recorder you had reviewed and have been very happy with it.

Part 2 is already in the works. I just cut the edit short because the video would have been WAY longer than I normally publish. This unit is more expensive than others I have reviewed, but the 7" screen is not the only advantage it offers.

Excellent review of the Cloner Alliance ViewPro. I've just binged watched a number of your videos. I have now subscribed to your channel! You do an excellent job explaining features and then showing technical details and how you measured the results. May I ask your opinion about the ClearClick Video to Digital Converter 2.0? I just bought it to convert old VHS, High 8 and Digital 8 tapes to MP4 videos on USB drives for my clients. Will it at least match the resolution and quality of those formats or should I return it and buy the Cloner Alliance ViewPro or another converter that you have reviewed? Thank you!

What were the final calibration image settings that you used? Thanks for the review.

Great video! I watched your video of the Cloneralliance UHD Pro box, and it seems CA went a different way with the look of the compression on this unit. The UHD Pro box had raised blacks and less contrast, this is the opposite. If I had to chose one I might prefer the UHD Pro look, as it is more filmic maybe? Did you try and correct the UHD Pro footage? Which unit has the best video in your opinion? What about sharpness? This unit seems to lose a good bit of detail. Thanks

Great review! - I watched them both. Do you know the proximate current draw from a battery? Alt - do you know the operating time and on what MAH battery? Next question: does the screen look like it is an actual 1080, or do you think it is downscaled? And can the brightness be turned up enough to see comfortably in daylight (not necessarily sunlight).? Thanks!

mine will not hold the date but will keep the settings for color calibration.... to which is my next complaint, the color calibration is horrendous. It looks good on the CAVP (Cloner Alliance ViewPro) but when I playback on my computer or tv the colors are awful, and there doesnt seem to be an easy way to adjust other than trail and error over and over and over again. What is that color bar waveform vectorscope program you used?

Is there a reason to use the ViewPro over the UHD Pro other than the monitor?
@ThriftyAV2 жыл бұрын
I had less hassle with HDCP using the ViewPro, but there is a workaround for the UHD Pro. One advantage of the UHD Pro is the ability to capture 4K. The ViewPro will accept a 4K signal, but captures at 1080p.

Doesn't even come with a button cell. Would it have killed them to include $5 worth of charge circuitry? Lame.
