I love your show. After adopting our two children from Korea, I bought a variety of Korean cookbooks to learn to cook some things from their home country. A lot of the recipes were complicated and difficult. I tried them anyway with varying results. Kimchee and bulgogi were two of my few successes, and big favorites with our family. Since finding your show, I’ve discovered that Korean cooking doesn’t have to be difficult. Had my daughter lived longer, she would have loved it, too, and would likely have taken it to a whole new level. She was an amazing cook (and baker). Her life was cut short at age 34 by complications of severe lupus. Prior to her death, we spent many, many happy hours together cooking (and baking) and talking. Though her death destroyed me, cooking the recipes from your show brings back good memories. My son also appreciates the addition of new dishes and the improvement of old ones.

Hi more👋. Each Korean family make their BulGoGi and Galbi slightly unique. Some don’t use any fruit purée, and make ur super simple with just a few ingredients. It really depends on how simple or gourmet you want to make it. As for my Korean recipes, they authentic traditional recipes. For my Bulgogi and Galbi marinades, I prefer to use Korean pear, but some use Sweet apples or kiwi. Some even use pineapple purée. Some people add pear to there bulgogi, do you know why?
@ModernPepper4 жыл бұрын
Hi Briekybo👋 Yes, grated or purée Korean pear is also used for BulGoGi marinades. The pear tenderizes the meat while also adding sweetness.
