The whole concert is joyful. I have been asking reaction channels (not Yourselves) for 3 years to react to this concert. And this is the first time anyone has that I know of. As a metal head and cellioist I can never get enough when the two genres meet up. Thank you thank you thank you. My fav reaction channel by far .

Yeeeeeeeeeeees!! I never thought you'd get to do this one but I knew she'd love it!! That whole DVD is gold. A couple of songs from it are Loki and Hél. Loki is long and has a child choir in it. Hél uses the choir and band vocals to great dramatic effect. Both are in YT, and the full DVD too.

I do second those who have recommended Hel or/and Loki and I would ad Baldur to the selection all songs from the same concert. It was a great show I was there. I think that everyone that is feeling a bit down would benefit from watching Jón Geir drum live he looks so happy and it is so contagious happy days and thanks for your reactions :D

Hey guys! I'm the dude that took promo copies of the debut album to the Faroe Islands and gave to the TUTL label to have a listen, which obviously worked! This band blew up so fast it wasn't even funny! I also run the Wacken Metal Battle contest for bands where we find an unsigned band in Iceland to send to Wacken, and Skálmöld were thinking about participating and didn't even have to in the end as they got signed shortly after. This performance was after the band had only released 2 studio albums and they were invited by the officially state run Icelandic Symphony Orchestra for a concert, which turned into 3 sold out evenings in a row, each in front of 1600 people.

The icelandic á is pronounced almost like an 'aw' sound, and the icelandic 'ö' is pronounced almost like the swedish 'ö', the norweigian 'ø', or the french 'eu'. Skálmöld has a lot of good folk songs, starting with their latest album, Sorgir, all the way up to their first album Baldur. Their best songs, for me, would be 'Múspell' and 'Hel' (not to mix with 'hell' from the christian mythology). In the same vibe (scandinavian folk, death-ish), I'd say that there is another great band, not well known outside of Sweden : Månegarm. From the small Føroyar (Faroe islands), with fewer death elements (but just as good), there would also be Týr!

The way they wirte their songs is Fornyrðislag witch is a form of Alliterative verse en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alliterative_verse#Fornyr%C3%B0islag and then you have Sléttubönd, the magic of Sléttubönd is that you are supposed to be able to read them backwards with out loosing the meaning of the poem.

Honestly, every member of this band looks like they're from a different genre of metal. The main singer/guitarist looks like he's from an old-school heavy metal band. Secondary guitarist (with the curly hair) looks like he's from a nu metal band. Bassist looks Viking metal. Third guitarist looks power metal. Drummer is straight out of a thrash band.

Guys, your volume is up so high that any comments you make completely drowns out the music. Also, consider reversing the screens so we get the larger screen for the performers. I’ll go find the link to the video so I can hear the performance.

Really? Hmmm.. When we previewed it, it wasn't like that. As far as the polar screen switch, it just means that I'll have to click and switch during filming which can be annoying to the viewer, but we will certainly give it a shot. Thanks RW. Rich

You guys might actually like Amon Amarth, even though they only do the cookie monster style vocals. I know both of you don't care for that style, but the singer for Amon Amarth does it in a way that one can actually hear what he's saying, for the most part. Plus the music is more old-school, Judas Priest/Accept/etc but just tuned way down to sound heavier.
@Kel.N.RichReactions5 жыл бұрын
We may do them soon. Taking a break after a week's worth of stretching ourselves on those vocals. They give me a headache most times and I'm often left with the thought "how about the version with the clear and melodic vocals that don't sound so freaking angry or rage-filled?" But alas, others detest what I like as well and need the extra punch and drama. Kel can handle Slipknot but he has a style that is quite likeable. Most of the other stuff is just not pleasing to our ears. But we press on and give them a whirl in bite sizes! Rich
@sopwithsnoopy87795 жыл бұрын
No worries. If you never do them because of the cookie monster vocals, we would understand. They are one of those bands I would consider a 'gateway' band for those kind of vocals because they are a bit more tolerable in that regard and the music is so good it kind of pulls you in.
