These are really tempting... everything I own for work is mainly milwaukee, but I'm not bought in to any modular storage system yet. The magnetic sides are a big bonus
@g.buildsАй бұрын
@@sisu9663 I am also in the Milwaukee ecosystem but couldn’t really see a huge benefit of buying the Milwaukee storage system other than I wanted everything to match lol. Honestly a lot of the modular storage brands right now are good options. Before this I was looking at tough built, Milwaukee, even rigid. Thanks for your comment.

I use the rigid drawer system sense it’s a bit more affordable but it’s good to know there’s a metal alternative that’s the same price as the packout drawers. If sk has a sale I’ll pick up two. Great video!

@@curtops872 rigid is a solid choice too! I am happy there is competition to keep companies innovating.

@@g.buildsI’ve got dewalt 2.0 and the original and packout. The original dewalt is the cheapest financially and durability wise. The 3 box tsak is about $99. The toughsystem2.0 and pack out are similar although packout is about 10-20% more, the higher quality of the packout is about the same as the higher price difference. But negligible for the average person.
@derek44636 күн бұрын
I forgot to mention the tough system 2.0 is about $199 for the 3 box roller (twice as much as their original tsak set) and packout was $320 on sale for the 3 box roller. On a budget the dewalt tsak is best bang for the $. Dewalt also has a metal box setup that’s about 30% more, but beautiful build quality and aesthetic. Not worth the cost imo. You should do packout/links/dewalt wall mount organizers next

I first had the big gangbox-style jobsite toolbox and sure, they're handy, but requiring a lull or forklift to get it in and out of my truck when I arrive and leave a jobsite sucks. Given, I'm on a job for months at a time so that's not that big of a deal, but there are so many cons compared to the pros. Then I became a Milwaukee fan-boy and got their Packout drawers. The quality is fine, but I hate the red and the fact that it stands out, so it's common for tools to grow legs and go missing. Toughbuilt has a 2-in-1 handtruck-to-dolly sorcery contraption that would be ideal for when I need to navigate rocky terrain on any random jobsite. But I love the idea of a metal modular drawer system. A metal cart could be welder together with castors if I wanted them side-by-side. This might be my frontrunner. Thanks for the video!

How heavy are they, if for example one were to load it up with all their wrenches and sockets would it be manageable to lift a box into the back of a hatchback? Also how sturdy are the drawers? Thin sheet metal or do they hold up to the weight of being fully loaded?
@g.builds4 ай бұрын
I would say its doable considering I can lift the boxes around full of tools and im a girl 4'11" 135 pounds so it doesn't take much to beat me out. I do think its doable to lift and throw in a hatchback. Definately not thin cheap metal in my opinion. I feel comfortable enough to load it up without having to think about what im putting it in no problem.

Great video! Would you recommend this tool box for a mobile aircraft mechanic? My biggest concern is loading up this tool box into the van and rolling through parking lots.
@g.builds3 ай бұрын
@@ericmoreno6892 I would recommend it in your case! Definitely managable when broken up into a few tool boxes 👍.

Are you sure you can’t swap the key cylinder out with a different cylinder? I have wanted these for a while. I have a versastack but my tools are automotive and in 3 boxes I probably have about 200 pounds of tools so it’s not easy to cart around. Also these being like roll cab drawers is appealing and would be better for organizing than just. A big plastic tote. Even though versastack has a drawer box those plastic drawer boxes are pretty tacky. The packout ones and the higher end dewalt/craftsman ones are nice but these sk boxes are really nice. I think one group great star manufactured these to appeal to mostly is the Mobil mechanic crowd. Thanks for the video.

I have a front opening Knack box I take to car races. It's geeat, but the problem is I have to pull my bins off the shelves to get anything. This is pretty attractive as an option to mount inside it for my various fasteners, fittings and parts.

The new SK is absolute garbage. Do not bother. I still have 2 brand new tools that I have contacted them about with zero outcome. Such a bummer. My box is full of rhe older stuff I bought in my 20's. I proably will never spend another dime with them.
