Moving from single overhand to two handers. When you are first learning the tendency to push the top hand to far forward instead of using bottom hand and a pivot takes a little getting use to. Thanks for another great video Tim.

good point Jason. Even though this video was filmed with a long rod and long line itS is a good video that talks about initiating the forward cast with the bottom hand. kzbin.info/www/bejne/laGkoaqohKehoZo

I still find myself pushing with my top hand too much and pulling too little with the bottom should be 70/30 it’s probably opposite for me. Or at least it feels that way after an hour or so

It might help you to try keeping your top hand elbow pinned against your ribs throughout the entire cast. This will force you to use more bottom hand. Its super awkward at first but it can really help tighten up your casting. Maybe this will help with your shoulder and elbow problems also. It really helped my transform my casting!

Hi jedi! What’s tip lenght do you recommend for a skagit line and 12.4 lenght rod?
@LineSpeedJediTimRawlins3 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy thanks for the question, 10 foot tips for a rod that length should work great.Thank you, cheers buddy

@@LineSpeedJediTimRawlins great! I use a 10 foot tip, but sometimes I blow my anchor when I use a snap T cast. But its a timming cuestion, not a equipment set problem. I live in patagonia Argentina, and recommend your videos here. Great Job! Thanks so much for your answer

@@juancruzmontanez2119 thanks buddy that makes my day. Don’t be afraid to try a twelve foot tip, it may help if you are tall or have a very short Skagit head. Also soak the fly for a bit before the sweep, and remember, sometimes an abrupt application of power may cause a blown anchor, so a smooth acceleration of the forward stoke is essential. Thank you for recommending my videos down there that is so awesome!
