I'm 44 and tried to be a skater when I was a teenager, I was 6'8" 200lbs of pure uncoordinated mess. Needless to say but I gave up quick and went back to basketball. But I constantly find myself watching podcasts and videos of skating, and this is great. Thanks for the good conversation and stories.

Im around that same height and yeah, dealing with growth spurt balance and learning to skate made for a roooooough first 3 years, i was always pretty nimble for my hieght but when skateboards are pretty much made for like 5'6-6'2 people you have way less margin for error with landing stuff, also going through different setups like some napkins for years too, if anybody else thats pretty tall/have long legs is reading this, try a 8.75-9" width x 33" length board with a 15" wheelbase, might take some getting used to but it makes the job so much easier.
