I'm a 28 year old skateboarder who started skating when I was 14. If I had your videos back then I know I would have stuck with it instead of quitting and giving up. As always felt so hard without any instruction to get over the fear. The way you approach learning takes all the fear out of skateboarding and just brings the fun. Thank you so much for your videos!

These remind me of all the little things I'd mess around with as a kid. Important fundamentals! I rode alarmingly loose trucks and couldn't ollie or drop off a ledge, but I could flip to primo and caspers like a mofo just because I was messing around while watching the other kids do more 2000's-appropriate stuff.

Hi JB, I need help with my "up and down". I don't know if it makes any difference but am using a cruiser with pretty big wheels so it's a little higher off the ground. I have no problem stomping down with my front foot but I have had some bad falls going down on the tail with my back foot. I've tried it on grass but the moment I try on concrete its like my body freezes up. I fall because my front foot tries to fight my back foot and the board ends up flying away. How do i get over the fear of standing on the tail? I'm worried I will never be able to ollie because I can't even do the up and down. Thanks, Audrey. (Melbourne, Australia)
@SkateparkLessons10 ай бұрын
If you use a regular skateboard and not a cruiser, it will help a lot since it’s lower to the ground and less angle needed to touch the tail. Try it! 💙🛹💙

Hello JB, I have started to learn to skate about a month ago at 40 years of age - being able to skate has always been something I wanted, I finally had the courage to start; now that I can push and go straight with not many issues I am eager to learn some basic tricks. Even though I am right handed - I ride goofy - It felt better to be on the board with my right and push with left. Of course it does come with some problems; using a foot that you have not used to even kick a ball with to do these tricks takes that muscle memory awhile to adjust. What confuses me with the shuv it is this; for when we are to shove the board with our back foot - do we push the trucks down and in front with our back foot before we shove the board back? I also have small feet (size US 6,5-7, European would be 39-40) so wrapping my toes around to shove is also a bit difficult. Could you go in depth with how motion is with the trucks and the shove as well.

this actually has nothing to do with real skateboarding and has a lot to do with the way people and the reason people ride today and that means for all the wrong reasons.... Just too glammed out.... Skateboarding lost its ass and its balls in the mid-90s....
