i like the emphasis on the head position. I would always "throw" my body more backwards, instead of "pivoting" around my head. That works for backside ollies on a bank, but never got the riding 180 down. Also I would slide my front foot more heelside, thinking that I would 'push' it around and land centered. But your clear attention to slightly move the front forward instead of backwards, emphasizing the 'control', is also good. Have been working on these for the last couple of days and see lots of improvement. Thanks for the great video's!

4:48 How do you get boned out so perfectly? Can you do a video on ways to practice getting that back knee tuck and front leg extension like you do in this clip? Your form is so flawless. I tried on the ground on the carpet without a board and I can't even get my body to close to stretching that way.
@SkateparkLessons3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your kindness and support Steven, remember I’ve been skateboarding hard for over 25 years so try to compare yourself to how well you skated yesterday instead of how well I’m skating. Doing boned out tricks typically requires a ramp and a lot of speed and pop for extra time in the air. Keep practicing and over time you’ll learn to master your tricks and add your own style to them 💙🛹💙

Lol and I’m the exact opposite of Ollie, FS tricks are generally easier for me bc I can see where as BS tricks feel blind

I have never got these. Nowhere near! I have a mental block when rotating bs on a skateboard. I can do BS 50-50, BS 5-0, BS Smith, BS boardlides for days, but the BS 180 still eludes me. Even backside reverts and BS powerslides to fakie, if you can count them, are in the bag. Front Side 180's are healthy and effortless. No thought required. Two things for me are fundamentaly wrong. No matter how hard I try to pop, my back foot does not want to lift off the ground. Like my back foot will not commit or is disconnected from my brain. Second thing is, no matter how hard I try or rotate my arms, head, hips, my feet will only go 90 degrees. It is purely in my head, but I can't unlock it. I have been battling these for 6 six years now and all the tips produce the same result. They are so far off, I don't know how to begin to fix them. The most frustrating thing is that this is my go to trick on a snowboard! FFS!!! I can do 1's, 3's and 5's on a snowboard, backside or fronside. The only limiting factor is the condition or shape of the kicker which determines whether I take off heel or toe edge. I need therapy.
@SkateparkLessons8 ай бұрын
Sometimes it helps to not try so hard, start with just a tiny little backside turn when you Ollie and build consistency and control. Then add more over time 💙🛹💙
