I learned the importance of not trying to stop my momentum 2 weeks ago. Caught up on the top of a bank, stepped off with my back foot turned and my knee popped out of place. I think I may have torn my meniscus. I have never owned pads but at 45 I’ve got to get some. Thank you for these instructional videos. This is such a valuable skill

This video is (eerily) right on time. I’m typing this with one hand because my left arm is in a sling after spraining my shoulder and bruising my ribs on a bad fall. The next time my 40-year-old butt works up the nerve to hit the park again, I’ll be practicing these. Thanks for this. Seriously.

37 and just started skating again after 12 years off. Never used to wear pads before so I never learned how to knee slide. I've gotten full pads now (including some football hip pads) but I still keep falling on my hands (causing me to have a finger sprain that is healing fairly slow). Also realizing that I need to get better kneepads if I'm going to knee slide (I've got the 8 balls right now). Thanks for this video. Checking out more of your content in general because you have good production value and I really need to learn good habits before I ingrain too many bad ones.

JB, How do you build confidence to roll into and down a big bank? I can do a 5/6ft drop in, but there is a 6/7 foot bank at my local that I can't bring myself to roll down. I became frozen with fear at the top.

The first step is building trust and confidence. So start small and work your way up. You definitely don’t need to immediately start from the top. Start at the bottom and roll up into a kickturn or just pump up and fakie. Work your way higher and then it will be easier for you 💙🛹💙
