I’ve just started skating again (I’m 26 but have a very messed up knee from an experimental surgery and surprisingly, skating doesn’t hurt my knee) and you are just an angel. I would ice skate so when I switched to quad skating I was like… perhaps I made a mistake. Completely committing to each foot- it sounds stupid- blew my mind. I’m glad that there’s practice without skates too- overlaps with my physical therapy too! You’re the most incredible teacher just so ya know.

You are a Mind Reader! I was just practicing this technique on my skates-in my living room-and thought my weight needed to be on all four-points of my standing foot.👎👎👎 Thank you, for this video! Perfect timing!!!!🌟 FYI, I plan to do more skating, later this evening! I am excited to applied this lesson!👌 You are an awesome roller skating teacher!🌻 🌟Keep being a wonderful energy!🌟

I am absolutely loving your videos! I am 36 and just bought my first pair of quad skates. When I was younger, I did a lot of inline but it has been a MINUTE and quads are a very different feel. I appreciate how you break moves down and show us ways to incrementally get more complex. Thank you!

This is so good, I've been trying to put my weight on all 4 wheels and it always gets away from me. I can't wait to practice this 😁

What do you mean by all four wheels? My wheels are so unstable ? Help please!

Hoping you'll see this question even though this is an older video. ☺ I tend to skate off to one side when trying to balance on one foot. Am I supposed to be able to go straight ahead and if so, am I curving because of my own weight distribution or because the trucks or wheels are not tight enough? Or could it be all three things? 🤪
@Skatie Жыл бұрын
When you curve off to one side it’s usually because of your weight distribution. You’re leaning on the little toe side it’s an outside edge and if you’re on the big toe side it’s an inside edge. If you want to go straight try to keep the weight directly in the middle of the ball of the foot.

Waiting for my skates to be shipped, I'm practicing crouching. (Fall anticipation) standing up, I'm not sure what my legs are going to do, so I think once I get them I'll start on a rug, and one foot balancing for starters. I'm using some basic ballet movements at the barre' for that. My barre' is very sturdy 1" tubular metal clothes drying rack. It's very stable with a wide base. I put on music to get some rhythm.

Hello skatie love your videos 🤩I am struggling alot with outside edges, I tend to put my knees towards inside, any tips to improve this?many thanks and hugs

Try to think of getting your knee over your toe and lean with the shoulder of the same leg.

Hi there. I would love to know what skates you are wearing and what plate and wheels are on them.
@Skatie6 ай бұрын
Hi, these are Risport Dance Boots on a Roll-Line Dance Plate and the wheels are a vintage pair of bones, but these days they are the equivalent of the rollerbones Elite wheels.

Hi. I’ll pop a link below. They’re just an Amazon set but I like that they’re not too bulky. smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0882NC5Y7/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_944AWR32Z9T895MB2P38?psc=1&linkCode=ml2&tag=skatie00-21

Do i lean to outer or inner edge
@Skatie10 ай бұрын
Initially for one foot balance you can focus the weight down into the ball of the foot. As you progress and get more balanced you can start to lean on either edge to start making a curve.
