5.1ghz on ecore clusters sharing the same cache is actually impressive. With 5.4ghz stable on the P-cores, for heavy workloads a combined 5.1ghz e + 5.4ghz p will fair well in benchmarks. Where it all falls short for me is latency. Im going to hold out until I see latency that exceeds raptor lake.
@gymnastchannel7372Ай бұрын
Sadly I feel that Intels current disaggregated architecture just has a high latency on its first gen implementation. Maybe next iteration will improve.

@gymnastchannel7372 I am seeing people get sub 70ns so all isn't lost maybe with a few updates the 285k + ram tweaks might get sub 50

wow, even though it seems to complicated, it is really good that the user have all the power to tune the cpu.

at about 2:55, you are incorrect - you can also set a boost limit for dynamic clocks, but the limit is locked into place and your testing will have the cores locked to that value. Offset voltage and using the boost limit as the your OC is more than a decade old, and just doing statis clocks is even older. Ten years ago, static was seen as behind the times, and now SOME people will say that for all-core boost overclocking, but really, the percentage of OC'ers who bother with per-core OCing are a rounding error - a niche within a niche.
@direct34Ай бұрын
I do all core sync and static v inorder to keep my frequency and vids stable. To put it simply, I don't trust auto anything in terms of getting maximum performance within the parameters of safe voltages. I'm really skeptical of the e-core voltage limit on N3b. I'm going to wait on this one.

Wouldn't the best gaming application be the scenario where 5 E-cores get boosted, so that you would have 13 (8P + 5E) "gaming threads" - and then does the scheduler figure any of this out or are you left manually forcing things with a Process Lasso app?

I'll be interested in Griffin Cove down the road if it does do away with E cores, as per speculation anyways. Hopefully Nova lake uses the same 1851 socket.. Other than that it'll be fun to tinker with the Ultra 9 285k in my upcoming build for 4k content. Doing some refresher research on tweaking lol.. been awhile since I've been on a proper desktop setup, upgrading from my Alienware Area 51m/w 9700k & RTX 2080 @ 1080p. My last proper desktop setup was on a i7 3770k Ivy Bridge.😅
