@andyb1653Ай бұрын
"Astrogration" sounds like a cross between "Astronomy" and "Migration". Theory: If At Attin has been "missing" for centuries (or perhaps millennia), then no one would know EXACTLY where it's at. Celestial bodies are constantly in motion- rotation of the galaxy, stellar drift, and all that. Well-known systems would have their location updated on-the-reg (probably daily), but a "lost" planet like At Attin? You'd have to figure out its last known location, then use some kind of stellar migration calculations to even have a CLUE where it's at now. Maybe Astrogration is the science of finding lost star systems? edit: Sort of like how we found Neptune IRL using mathematics alone, not because anyone actually saw it
@colton-sg6hxАй бұрын
astrogation astronomy navigation.
@andyb1653Ай бұрын
@colton-sg6hx Yes but the "R" comes from "migRation". It's all of them really. 1.Astronomy: Where WAS it? 2.Migration: Where the heck is it NOW? 3.Navigation: How do we get there?

I love how Jod/Silvo always includes truth in his con. He let's them believe he's a Jedi, he's always spinning in trueisms with his responses, but he's not outright lying. I think they're making it obvious he's Force-sensitive but not at all a Jedi. But Jedi or not, I think he survived the purge and he's super leary of droids. This episode was another good one. I'm glad they're giving more to KB, i really want more from her. And I like how they're leaning into the pirate nonsense. SM-33's absurd and threatening second "...Aye." He's so great. The overall feeling, the music, the silhouette shot in front of the planet, the adventure of the all, it's so great.

An observation, from an economic standpoint: The two key factors that affect value are supply & demand. So imagine you had a world that was your galaxy’s commerce center, and was where the vast majority of your reserve currency were minted & stored. Now, imagine that world was suddenly cut off from the rest of civilization. This would have two very different effects: it would drastically increase the value of currency across the galaxy, while simultaneously drastically *reducing it* on that world. So when Wim’s dad gave him those credit ingots for his lunch money, it was probably pocket change to them, but anywhere else in the galaxy Wim’s lunch money for a week is a king’s ransom. This is because credits are in ridiculous overabundance on At Attin, to the point where their entire government workforce is now constructed around literally just counting and re-counting the money and tracking how it circulates. The world doesn’t appear to have any real natural resources other than the forests, which don’t seem to be particularly exploited at the moment. And the planet has been doing this for so long, with no contact with the outside, that no one knows what that money is actually worth anymore. And if the Supervisor is a droid or computer system, as many speculate, it could be stuck in a loop, following its two final prime directives from the Republic: manage the money and restrict access to the planet. But there’s a big problem looming here: if this is the case, were the planet to re-enter the galactic stage, it could potentially completely destabilize the New Republic economy by devaluing the currency to near-worthlessness.

Thanks to Kyle, Bendu and Nerd Chronic! ✨💀✨ On the word alone, I figured astrogation was a space-y version of navigation. I then looked it up; that was correct. Here are the details from Wookieepedia for anyone interested: Astrogation was the science of safely and reliably traversing space in a starship. Throughout galactic history, cartographers and scouts traveled between star systems in search of more reliable and safer hyperspace routes free of dangerous obstacles, advancing the science of astrogation. Traveling through hyperspace required a navigation computer to make precise calculations in order to follow these lanes and avoid crashing into "mass shadows," the gravitational wells surrounding massive celestial bodies such as planets. Often, ships had to navigate by way of hyperspace buoys or stop at waypoints to calculate another hyperspace vector.

The "great work" is an alchemy reference, which is the English translation of the Latin word "magnum opus." It was a reference to creating the philosopher's stone that could change lead into gold. I have a feeling the gold coins we've seen are counterfeits being made on At Attin, which would explain the legends about it being a sort of space El Dorado.

And for those who say this doesnt feel like a SW show, how should a SW show feel I ask? This is made with lots of heart, and in the spirit of what George Lucas would want for his universe. SW is full of worlds and stories, it doesnt all need to be centered around everything we already know and is familiar with as part of the SW universe, when the well Lucas created goes infinitely deeper.

The Ishi-Tib was Alfred Molina. The same voice actor did the B-1, CZ-B-9000, and the droid that wanted to save the "Prince". Also, Captain Silvo/Crimson Jack/Ja-Ja NoNoWood is or rather was a Jedi Padawan during Order 66, much like Caleb Dume(Kanan Jarus) and took on various aliases and became a pirate. He may have had a droid that outed him to the clones or Inquisitors..

Technically the skiffs are not "in space" The entire section where the starships are moored is contained inside a permeable magnetic shield, like all "open" hangars. SM-33: "Ayeeeee" 💀 Just to be clear: "Crimson Jack" is literally "The Dread Pirate Roberts" of Star Wars. (Franchise opportunities available in your Sector). Crimson Jack was first seen in the Marvel original series of SW Comics as a rogue and Pirate Leader partnered with the deadly eye-candy gunslinger Jolli. He was killed AFTER ANH in an EVA shootout by Han Solo during a Space Duel in a magnetically shielded field projected corridor between the Millenium Falcon and Crimson Jack's ship. Captain Silvo's many names including "Crimson Jack" just means that the Name Recognition legacy is worth preserving, no matter WHO bears the title in the NR Era.🏴☠️😎🏴☠️ The protocol droid calling for the prince is an easter egg for the old Droids cartoon, where Threepio was in service to a prince on the run. 🤔 They double down on At Attin being an OLD Republic (not High Republic) cutoff colony. 😏👌
