"Jod" spent all his life thinking that the good guys were never going to come, that they didn't exist... I think at the end he was kind of happy to see his own demise knowing he wasn't right about it, that smile showed something of that maybe

I think the only reason why the good guys showed up so quickly is they knew or at least assumed At Attin held just Smaug level hoards of treasure. Remember in season 3 how Greef Karga and Navarro had to rely on a Mandalorian Culvert for protection after the good guy New Republic said they wouldn’t support him? There wasn’t any gold there so the NR didn’t show up.

As someone who didn't watch any of the behind the Scenes I'm flashed away that SM-33 is a puppet.😮 Also fully agree on Jod, his betrayal was foreshadowed to the high heavens, but because it's Star Wars we were all in denial. I really hope we will see him again

You’re so right, and watching all the episodes again it’s fun to watch Jude Law’s performance evolve once you know the end point. He is a cheesy fake Jedi when he meets them, and him constantly about to blow up with annoyance before it boils over on Lanupa is such a treat. One of the best new characters in so many years. He’s in my SW baddie Hall of Fame with other recent newer entries of Syril and Dedra.

Absolutely YES to this! Skeleton Crew is the perfect tone and vibe for Star Wars that we (or at least I) need or want right now! This show was a great blast start to finish with its adventure and childhood nostalgia and wonder, but also lots of genuine heart. And it would be awesome to get a second season or something in the same spiritual vein. Superb and wonderful stories, writing, and characters, great action and adventure, and also something to really be able to have fun and also find more hope out there in this world.

For me the best way to describe skeleton crew is that it was a show that not many people wanted, but I think in the end it is what we needed in the sense that it gives a jolt to the franchise that so many fans want especially as we go into 2025 where we could have a pretty decent year for what’s to come with Andor S2, Visions S3 and then Japan Celebration.

I love this series wasn’t trying to reinvent the wheel with starwars but instead stayed true to it for once❤ it captures all the inspiration George was thinking of but instead replaced the Samaria and Old Western movies, with Nautical adventures and 80’s flick like Treasure Island and the Goonies.

Something I will always say I love about this series is the pirate elements they brought into Star Wars. There are so many examples but Jod’s blaster very clearly being based in a flintlock pistol just sells it to me.

I thought it was terrific. I was holding my breath a bit for a "AktUAlY tHe JeDi wErE BaD" take. Instead we got a "The Jedi were so Good, that I lost all faith in 'Humanity' without them" take. And Jude Law just absolutely crushed it. I too want to see more of Pokket. Hell, throw her into the next season too.

This is not only one of my favorite Star Wars things, it’s one of the best TV shows for families period. Our 2 year old, who won’t sit through anything, was immediately hooked by every episode. The action-adventure genre is perfect for little kids, but is equally as enjoyable for parents. This felt very similar to what Lucasfilm has always been about - action-adventure for all ages. I really enjoyed this and hop the viewership numbers spike up over time.

I also want a second season, and would be more than happy to watch a grown skeleton crew out exploring the galaxy (maybe rescuing Jod from a bad situation?) in the Onyx Cinder with SM-33. I think (and hope) that Disney will see the positive reaction for the show and ignore the supposedly low viewership numbers to give us another season. The show runners already said they have ideas and that it would include a time jump to coincide with the kids growing up.

Jod has not done anything worse than Hondo Onaka. I don't think the character needs a "redeption arc", just him being himself, learning, changing, but sometimes that will put him in the dark side or the light side. Depending on which fits him the best.

Three things that I thought about after the finale: one was that Jod warned them they didn’t know what they were doing, which implies that Jod knows something ominous may be coming for the treasure planet far more threatening than just pirates, which would be imperial remnants, which leads into the second thing, which I believe beggars the question: why did the communication halt after Order 66? That would have to have been the Emperor‘s doing for a nefarious reason. The third is something cute I thought about, that was Wim & Fern’s parents starting to notice each other as obviously Wim’s dad is a widow and we can assume Fern‘s dad is not in the picture because he wasn’t present for the entire series, which would make an amazing family of Wim & Fern becoming siblings in the future. PS: Jod’s Jedi friend who trained him was a cut character: “Apart from Jude Law, the cast includes Nick Frost as SM-33, Jaleel White as Gunter, Haley Webb as Jedi Ninaa Nawood, Kryiana Kratter as KB, Ravi Cabot-Conyers as Wim, and Robert Timothy Smith as Neel.”

Skeleton Crew is up there with Rebels, the Jedi games and Ahsoka as one of my favourite projects in SW since the Disney acquisition. I knew this series would be a lot of fun and a joy to watch but I wasn't expecting it to go so HARD in so many ways. I definitely want a lot more from this corner of the galaxy! Hats off to the creators, directors and actors for this truly incredible show If there is a season 2, I think it would be a lot of fun to revisit this group as teenagers. They can fix up the Onyx Cinder, grab SM-33 and go off on another adventure while the kids tackle the teenage years and challenges.

Quality wise it's nowhere near Andor, the same way The Goonies are nowhere near Citizen Kane, but that's mostly because they are not even meant to be compared to begin with. They're extremely different products in terms of target audience, depth of story and dialogs, overall theme and vibes. Skeleton Crew is a good, light gearted and joyous adventure, while Andor is an extremely deep product with elements from spy movies, thrillers, political dramas, heist movies and more. It's was more philosophical. I like Andor way more as an adult, but if I was a kid I'd probably have rewatched Skeleton Crew a bunch of times already. Bottom line, it's "still a better story than twilight". Or should i say, The Acolyte.

A big thing to point out is that while Skeleton Crew may not have had the numbers comparative to the other shows, it also cost around $100 million less to make than the acolyte did. I think that with such a positive online response it is likely to be picked up again.

I'll be honest and admit one thing I've been wrong about is Watts and Fords vision for a second season. I was fairly sure it was conceived as a stand alone season, neatly wrapped up, no further season expected. But their interview blew that up as they were clear they have ideas for what a second season may involve even before they finished this season. Now, I still don't think those ideas are fully developed, and they themselves admitted there would be a big time jump due to the real life actors aging - which is commendable - and the question would be about orientating them in whatever has gone on in the galaxy by that time and keeping with the ideas they have. Which I think, is very sensible, even if its not the kind of 'pick up where we left off' Season 2 that lots of people are calling for which is physically impossible by virtue of human biology.

I am so glad the movie was denied because there's so much good stuff in this show, it deserved the longer runtime. We need more of these kids, we need to hear about why At Attin was even hidden away to begin with, we need to see Jod get better, we need to see how it connects to the Mando-Verse, or how it could relate to the Sequel Era because man, there is just so much potential stuff to explore in the future. It's the best addition to Star Wars since Disney acquired Lucasfilm, and I love Rebels and Bad Batch, the animated shows are where I have had the most fun with Star Wars, but I can't deny the greatness that was, and hopefully will continue to be, Skeleton Crew.

I went into Skeleton Crew with no expectations other than I probably wasn’t going to like it because it stars a bunch of children. However, I was actually very surprised with how much I enjoyed the show. The show was fun, had some adventure, and reminded me of Goonies. I am very happy that they did not make Jod (the best character) a former Jedi and that he had no redemption arc. He was simply an untrustworthy, treasure obsessed pirate. Wim was incredibly annoying the whole show and the ending did leave some unanswered questions like, “what happed to Jod?” or “what’s the New Republic going to now that they know about Atatin?” I am hoping we get a second season so these questions can be answered and the adventure can continue.

I'm almost disappointed that Ezra Bridger didn't show up with the X-wings. Lately, I've noticed that Jod might serve as a dark reflection of the kind of person that Ezra could have become if things had been different and he'd kept stealing on the streets. But that's just my take on it. It's amazing what Disney can do when they actually try to make something original for once.

I really enjoyed this show. I was pretty down on SW shows after the train wreck that was The Acolyte and the fairly bad Ahsoka series but this was such a great fun watch. Jude was amazing as Jod and gave that character so many awesome layers. I think what made me truly love this show was Jod growing increasingly dark and evil without the usual SW redemption arc.The acting overall was pretty damn good especially among the kids which truly surprised me. However, I think there’s a 0.0% chance this show gets a second season. It apparently had worse viewership than The Acolyte so it’s hard to believe Disney sees any advantage in bringing it back. The only shot is that it wasn’t a complete shitshow as The Acolyte.

Agreed on all points! My sole criticism of this otherwise excellent series is in the light levels of the cinematography. The picture is a bit dark and murky, and it can be difficult to "read" a given shot/scene. Slightly higher contrast and a higher overall light value would make the show not only look more like Star Wars, but it would be that much more engaging because the important aspects of the optics -- character faces and emotions, for example -- could be more easily seen and understood at a glance. Other than that: Chef's kiss =mwah!=

As a critic, a reviewer, you have to give time for a show to breath. To develop. I believe it’s a generational issue. Millennials and younger want immediate satisfaction. They want to know everything right away. I could see this show was going to be something special right from the start. I was sad that you could not. Please learn from this moving forward.

While it wasn't as bad as the acolyte, I don't think it was much better. The story just fizzled out. There was almost no resolution at the end past what I'd consider episodic, not a seasonal close. And what story was explored wasn't deep, do we know anything about ANY of the names the kind of a jedi but not jedi went by? How much actual training did he have and who was his master? What about the pirate we saw from Mando, what happened to him? Did someone actually meet them from the republic and strike a deal? Did he take his assessment? Its like they made minimal effort for the story and instead just threw in so many Easter eggs that meant nothing until they barely fill a half hour episode a week. The one thing that far outshines the acolyte was the acting, almost everything I have issues with was in the writing.

I never really got hooked, dont get me wrong it was fine but it was also a bit short and boring maybe, boring is not the right word but not sure what it is but I was missing something
