I like that Fern and Jod pretty much say the same thing. Fern tells her mother tgat everywhere they went, even the worst places, there were good people. Jod says that the galaxy is only darkness with little pin pricks of light. They have the same conclusions, but Feen focuses on the light while Jod focuses on the darkness, and that's what makes one our hero and the other the villain. It also shows how with a little tip in either direction, Fern could be just as cynical and Jod could be just as hopeful. A really good moment in the show.

I love the characterization we got here for Jod. The weird thing is in the seventh episode, I was mad at Jod for what he was doing to the kids. But in the final episode, he actually pulls back and shows some restraint and reveals that he basically had to survive Order 66 and the harsher galaxy even before a Jedi found him. So he had pinpricks of small humanity and light in him, but much of it was marred by his attempts to survive the galaxy. The final shot of Jod overlooking everything is just beautiful. The self-proclaimed ruffian, now looking at his big score collapse as he’s back to square one. And for all his pirate tricks and cruelty, he lost to a bunch of humble kids. But he just calmly accepts it as he watches it unfold. Maybe the gig is up for good, maybe it isn’t. Overall, just a fantastic finale to a grand show that really brought back that childhood wonder in Star Wars for me.

Absolutely loved the role reversal between the parents and kids in the last episode. The parents had to let go of convention, fear and complacency when they trusted the kids with the new information about the galaxy in general and followed their lead. I guess it's good Jod didn't have his complete redemption yet. In reality, his story was pretty tragic, and recalling how a couple of times he laughed kind of maniacally out of nowhere, I guess it makes sense that he doesn't put everything together in his head yet. Yeah, it was pretty obvious he could have done damage but he had restraint. In the end the kids taught him a lesson too we can hope. I always felt his inner conflict and his incomplete commitment to being dark. There was something about the way he would deliver his lines and his actions in his worst moments, that told me he was trying his hardest to strike enough fear so he would not have to go fully dark. Yeah, I hope we do see him again.

Like fast forward a day or 2, and show the parents greeting a real New Republic emissary, and a quick line about "We've got a lot to catch up on..." I definitely think Wim looking up at the X-Wings at the end is him deciding that's what he wants to do. The Jedi are gone (as far as he knows), and these are his new heroes. I definitely think we'll see Jod again somewhere. Like you said, he's not evil just bad- or I think broken by his traumas- for now. I'm glad they didn't try to rush his character rehabilitation in this series, but I wouldn't be surprised if when we see him again, we'll seem start sliding toward the light. Some things feel left open and I’m not sure if a S2 will happen but I do seriously hope these characters all return because if that’s the last we see of them then I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was hoping we got a better closer. Still a very good show!
@jacoblyman94413 сағат бұрын
I have felt Jod was heavily inspired by Long John Silver (Treasure Island) so in a way, that kind of is where you end the character... foiled; but escaping into the unknown with a small bag of gold as the protagonists return to their normal lives. With that said, if Jod appears again in a second season of Skeleton Crew or in the "Mandalorian & Grogu" movie I won't complain, Jude Law nailed the character and it feels like Captain Silvo has a lot more stories to be told. The show has left me wanting more, and it's been a while since a new Star Wars character has left me curious as to what happens next like Jod has.

Great ending and series. I have to admit I've had a long time apprehension towards kids as main stars for a movie or series. It could easily get cheesy and maybe not feel relatable for me being older. But, like Stranger Things, I found Skeleton Crew to be able to keep kids as kids. Yet, put them through serious situations and feel relatable and believable. Sometimes over the top, but, I have to suspend disbelief and have fun, too, with such things. I find it interesting and hopeful that some of the least anticipated and maybe even "they are making a series about this?" Series have been some of the best. The Bad Batch, Andie, Skeleton Crew. I'd go so far as to take this sentiment way back when I wasn't sure if animated SW was going to be for adult me? The Clone Wars & Rebels, namely, and they both ended up going some of the best SW series made.

I really enjoyed this show and the season finale did not disappoint. I had read some fans were hoping for a top tier cameo at the end from someone like Luke Skywalker or Mando. I am glad that did not happen. That would have taken away from the acts of bravery we saw in our young heroes and their parents. Like Alex said some of the questions that were not answered in this episode aren't important to the story being told. I expect those can be told in publishing. This show and these characters would be perfect for a good young adult book series. I will end by saying how much I liked the character of Jod and Jude Law's performance. I think his fate was left a mystery because we will see him again perhaps in Ahsoka season 2 or the Mando/Grogu movie? What a ride this show has been. I hope we get more of the gang some day.

Every time we see those x wings come on screen makes me sad about not having that show and movie centered around them. But this show was surprisingly really awesome! It is definitely up there as one of the best SW content made by Disney!
