An early morning climb to Skiddaw, England's 4th highest mountain via Little Man. To make a spectacular circular walk, we cross Lonscale Fell and drop down to Scale How for a lunch stop, before descending to Skiddaw House and joining the Cumbrian Way, back to the car, where I left at Under Skiddaw Car Park. A glorious days walking in superb scenery, on the warm, sunny, summers day.

"You feel like you're the only person in the whole world" is my favorite thing in nature. When you come out and see people going about their days like normal you feel like you know something everyone else in the world doesn't. Your eyes are much more open. It's rare to be in city and say "I'm thankful to be alive" but in a location like that it probably crosses everyones mind, constantly. I wonder why the landscape is so incredibly different there. Why do the mountains not have trees? I wonder if there was mass logging. Is there any forest? I ask too many questions lol I'll research. Thanks for the shoutout. Believe me I'm 100% sold. It's moved all the way up my list on places I need to visit. The future is so murky it's impossible to say when - but I swear my feel will be touching that soil and I certainly will give you a bell! :) Thank you kindly, Alan. Great day out, as always! Rockie

I'm the Bronze Age trees were cleared from the hills and valleys for grazing animals and then the rain washed away a lot of the soil and minerals down to the lowlands, leaving that very fertile but almost impossible for trees to grown on the High Fells. There are plenty of woods and forest down below though. Sorry I screwed up your shout out, as I got the name wrong but did put it on the description, which I should have mentioned, dam! I could never live in a city, that would be like hell on earth for me. Thanks very much for stopping by and taking the time to comment buddy. Cheers Alan

Wow! That is a majestic view from up there! Makes you think of how many people hundreds and thousands of years ago the climbed up that mountain to get closer to God to Pray for something important, like , rain, or a dying Child or spouse or war or invasion or famine, plague. The history there is unbelievable! And the beauty is incredible! You are inspiring me my friend to get moving! I'm 400lbs! So this just might have saved my life!! Great video!

Well Frank I am 220lbs and I know how easy it is to put weight on and man, how hard it is to shift it, once it's there. For me walking and hiking have proved a lifesaver, as I always do some walking every day and it stops me putting on more weight and the more I do, the more I can (slowly) shift. Thank you so much for stopping by and take care buddy, cheers Alan

Finally on Friday I did this one. Weather was fantastic. Path easy to follow, went over Skiddaw Little Man now that was steep. Over to the Trig on Skiddaw. Then walked to the end and saw Scotland oh my it was amazing. Also had a fly by of 2 jets. About 3/4 back down my knees were pretty sore, back at the car had a brew and headed home. Dog enjoyed it too.

Well if you are ever down here and want to do it, let me know, great place to wildcamp at Scales Tarn as well, just under neither Sharp Edge. You do need perfect conditions to go over, assuming you want to get over safely and on wet rock, not a chance, as the rock is so polished and slippery, even on a dry day. Pleased I eventually got Skiddaw done, when I heard even you had done it living 'up the road', it had to be done lol. Thanks for watching Robin, cheers Alan

Great post Alan and a decent walk, some of the views on the way are beautiful. We have walked up from Keswick on a number of occassions and it's a dcecent trek, the path is a challenge if the breeze is up. I think the way you came back is a nice walk, easier on the eye and the ankles. If you get a breezy day the views from the top are harder to take in, it gets really choppy. all the best to you thanks for sharing, we enjoyed seeing it, you can feel the ground under your feet!

That was a beautiful hike especially when you had the lake views in the beginning. I was surprised to hear that the 1st 3rd of the hike was the hardest. Usually on peak hikes the last 3rd is the hardest. It was really nice that you had the trail practically to yourself and it was a super clear and sunny day day. Good of you to watch Robert and I have been invited to do collaborations with a few other You Tubers, which was great but a mare to organise, as I like to go over as soon as I wake up, which tends to be just before first light and I am a fair weather walker, cannot see the point in 5 hours driving to get soaking wet. I am a member of the Fellowship of the Fells walking group, on Facebook, ran by two of the best and friendliest people I have ever met - Chris and Leona Pye, who organise group walks in the Lakes and I have done a number of these and met some fantastic people. Anyone can join and they put walks for all abilities in their events section. If I go, I tell them the day before, as I do not like to let people down, especially with our changeable weather and I tend to lag behind as I am always stopping filming, so do not get left to far behind lo. Go over and join (anyone can) and hopefully, we will meet up on one of the walks facebook.com/groups/1664977863746814 Cheers Alan
